Position Summary
The Assistant Director of the Genomics Core Facility must have familiarity with a with broad experience in genomic sequencing approaches. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Genomics Core Facility (GFC) Scientific Director as well as interact routinely with UNMC investigators, scientists, graduate students, industry representatives, service technicians, as well as other key academic and industry collaborators to assist researchers in all stages of projects, including initial consultation, design, development, and analysis of experiments. The Assistant Director coordinates the activities of core staff, manages databases and core website, participates in billing/budget operations, presents GCF project development and core progress in campus-wide seminars, assists in applications for external funding, and represents the GCF at specialized courses and conferences. Responsible for day-to-day management of the Core. Leads long-term projects. Creates new processes and procedures to address complex scientific problems.
