Maximus is in search of a Sr. Analyst - Data Analytics to help support our Federal Student Aid (FSA) portfolio, where you will play a critical role in transforming complex operational data into actionable insights that drive program performance and enhance customer outcomes. In this role, you will develop and deploy advanced analytical methods, create and implement KPIs, and leverage tools such as SQL and Python to work with large enterprise datasets. You will act as a trusted partner across multiple projects, guiding stakeholders on data usage, performance improvements, and solution maturity. This position also focuses on modernizing the data ecosystem through automation, scalable pipelines, and the integration of AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics to enable predictive insights and improve efficiency. You will collaborate cross-functionally to build reusable data products, support governance and data quality initiatives, and evaluate emerging technologies to advance analytics capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while supporting critical federal programs through innovative, data-driven solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy advanced methods to analyze operational data and derive meaningful, actionable insights for stakeholders and business development partners.
- Function as point of contact for data and analytical usage across multiple projects, and guide operational partners on product performance and solution improvement/maturity options.
- Analyze extracted data, identify trends and provide insights and analyses around operations and project data.
- Develop and implement new metrics, functions, and scripts as KPIs as needed.
- Code to defined requirements to segment populations from large enterprise datasets, verify data accuracy, and output files per specifications.
- Create and maintain all documentation including obtaining and collecting artifacts as needed.
- Ad hoc tool development to support operational and under served analytical areas.
- Learning emerging technologies and systems of need for company initiatives.
- Activities to support team communication and strategy implementation (meetings, etc.).
- Project management activities.
- Integrate AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics into operational workflows to enable predictive insights, anomaly detection, and intelligent data validation.
- Support modernization of the data ecosystem through development of automated, scalable pipelines and adoption of cloud-based and modern data platform capabilities.
- Identify and implement automation and AI-assisted solutions to improve efficiency, reduce manual processes, and accelerate insight generation.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate new data sources and contribute to the development of reusable, scalable data products and analytical frameworks.
- Apply and promote modern data best practices, including governance, data quality monitoring, and lineage, to ensure reliable and compliant analytics outputs.
- Evaluate, prototype, and enable emerging technologies, including AI-driven tools and self-service analytics capabilities, to advance analytics maturity and business accessibility to data.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
Additional Requirements as per contract/client:
- 2 years of experience coding (e.g., SQL, Python required.
- Working knowledge of Generative AI, AI, or Machine Learning concepts, including understanding their limitations and when to use AI versus deterministic approaches is required
- General knowledge of scripting and programming is required.
- Demonstrated experience using Generative AI tools (e.g., Copilot or similar) to accelerate work, such as generating or optimizing code/SQL, summarizing data, or drafting reports is required.
- Experience consistently applying sound professional and ethical judgment when using AI, particularly in the context of data governance, data privacy, or regulated data environments is required.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must reside in the U.S.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must not be delinquent or in default on any federal student loans.
- Employment and continued employment are contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a favorable clearance. Final suitability determination is the sole discretion of the Department of Education.
- Obtaining and Maintaining a PIV-I card is a requirement of this position. PIV-I cards must be picked up in person. New and existing employees may need to travel via car, train, or plane to a designated location to pick up their new or replacement PIV-I card. Any travel expenses will be paid for by Maximus.
