Summary
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer.   • You will operate all functions of the potable water treatment systems by computer remote command or hand/manual mode.
  • You will adjust systems to produce potable water that meets water system demand and quality limits specified by the Navy, and the Safe Drinking Water Act enforced by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the State of North Carolina.
  • You will maintain a record of plant operations, collect data, and develop reports for submission to regulatory agencies.
  • You will make production tests on well pumping stations for flow rate, static water levels, drawdown and recovery rates while maintaining a daily log sheet on well operations.
  • You will receive, handle, and store hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.
  • You will perform calibration and preventive maintenance on plant treating and pumping systems.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid North Carolina state driver's license and maintain on-base driving privileges once obtained.
  • You will be required possess a North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources Water Treatment A-Well certificate and maintain eligibility OR possess a valid B-Well certificate and obtain A-Well within 18 months of entry on duty.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position requires rotating shift work. You will be subject to call back.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Your resume must demonstrate: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: Operating, cleaning and performing preventive maintenance on water pumping and treatment systems that produce potable water for domestic and industrial uses and for fire protection.
