Job description

Job Title: Full Stack Developer w/Ruby on Rails
Clearance Required: US Citizen, DHS Public Trust EOD
Work Location: Remote

Alpha Omega is currently seeking a qualified Full Stack Developer w/Ruby on Rails in support of our Dept of Homeland Security customer. In this role, this individual will be developing and leading a successful DevSecOps, Cloud framework.This also includes tackling the challenges of Federal security requirements while implementing the quality driven software practices to reduce manual toil. If you like to dabble in multiple technologies and shift-left automation to create a unified software delivery and operations platform, please consider this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve several software applications.
    • Build and own full stack development for software applications
    • Develop new features using acceptance test-driven development
    • Participating in pair programming methodologies
    • Build and own quality throughout the development cycle by writing automated unit tests, integration tests, functional tests, and UI tests
    • Work in and with small feature delivery teams: cross-functional, cross-component team that completes many end-to-end customer features, one by one
    • Develop and maintain API specifications using Swagger Editor
    • Develop new features using microservices
    • Develop API design approach using AWS cloud and open-source technologies
    • Participating in Extreme Programming methodologies
    • Participate in product strategy, product design and product development activities
    • Use lean and agile work management and engineering practices.

    Required Qualifications:

    Required Experience/Skills:

    • 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
    • Proven full stack application development experience including front end technologies such as HTML/CSS/JS, React, and backend technologies such as Ruby, Java, Python, and database technologies such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.ย 
    • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
    • Strong team building and collaboration skills
    • 1+ yearsโ€™ experience with Ruby on Railsย 
    • Strong experience with JavaScript.
    • Experience with Git based source code repositories such as Github, Gitlab, Bitbucket.
    • Agile development experience
    • Intellectual curiosity
    • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and wear many hats

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience using Java Spring boot
    • Experience using Python and Django
    • Experience using AWS cloud services.
    • Experience using Cloud Foundry
    • Experience with React

    Preferred Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

    Salary and Benefit Information:

    The likely salary range for this position is $112,000- $130,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.ย
