Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Systems Test Engineer I is responsible for the testing and validation of Gentex systems and applications. They will execute test plans, identify defects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that Gentex products meet functional and performance requirements.

Location: This position requires on-site work at Gentex facilities. This role is not eligible for remote work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for system-level testing.
  • Execute manual and automated tests to validate system functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and product managers to understand requirements and provide feedback on design and functionality.
  • Conduct regression testing and verify bug fixes to ensure product stability.
  • Analyze test results and generate detailed reports to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Stay current with industry best practices in testing methodologies and tools.
  • Maintaining a high level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in systems testing or software quality assurance.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies and software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in Python scripting.
  • Full professional written and verbal proficiency in English.
  • Ability to travel to the United States.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.
  • Experience testing embedded and mobile systems.
  • Experience creating automated hardware and software tests.
  • Experience with Arduino, Raspberry pi and IBM DOORS.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Gentex offers a competitive total rewards package including base salary determined based on the role, experience, skill set, and location.   • This role offers a salary range of $55,200 CAD to $82,800 CAD, depending on candidate experience, education, and skill set.
