What is the role about?
Analytik Jena US, a company of the Endress+Hauser Group, is looking for a Chemical Analysis Applications & Service Engineer to join our team in the East Coast of the United States. Position is remote and will be based out of the successful candidate's Greater Boston area home office. This role will cover the eastern territory of the United States and will be responsible for other regions as needed.
Which tasks will you perform?
  • Complete customer site preventative maintenance, service, installations and chemistry applications of analytical instruments
  • Diagnose instruments via remote diagnostics and phone support
  • Perform customer training on analytical instrumentation
  • Perform IQ/OQ (Installation Qualifcation/Operational Qualification) on ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry), ICP-OES (inductively coupled plasma optical emissions spectroscopy), EA (elemental analyzer), AAS (atomic absorption spectrometry), UV-Vis Spectrometers, and/or TOC (total organic carbon) analytical instruments

What do we expect from you?
You will have (required):
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in relevant major such as chemistry, biological sciences, or engineering, or 4+ years relevant experience
  • Ability to travel 55-75% with minimal notice at times, within the United States and internationally as needed
  • Ability to work in-office 2-3 times per month as needed
  • 2+ years of experience servicing chemical analysis instruments
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Fitness and ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform instrument maintenance and repairs

You may have (preferred):
  • Experience servicing or using ICP-MS, ICP-OES, EA and/or TOC preferred
  • Will train Lab Chemist who has ICP instrument user experience, who has aptitude and attitude to service instruments in the field
  • IQOQ, GMP and/or GLP knowledge helpful
  • Proactively offers, seeks, and applies constructive feedback with an openness to growth and collaboration
  • Prioritizes the customer perspective in business decisions by actively seeking to understand customer needs and problems, initiating solutions based on this understanding, and implementing feedback to enhance the overall experience and prevent future issues

Anticipated salary range for this position is $90,000-$95,000 with an additional automotive allowance.
