What is a Remote Full Stack Developer Node Js?

A Remote Full Stack Developer Node Js is a software engineer who specializes in both front-end and back-end web development using Node.js and related technologies, and works from a location outside of a traditional office setting. They are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining web applications, handling both client-side and server-side programming. This role typically involves working with databases, APIs, and frameworks, collaborating with team members online, and ensuring the seamless integration of all parts of a web application.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Full Stack Developer (Node.js), and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Full Stack Developer (Node.js), you need solid expertise in JavaScript, proficiency with both frontend (e.g., React, Angular) and backend (Node.js, Express) technologies, and a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Familiarity with tools like Git, Docker, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and experience with RESTful APIs and databases (MongoDB, SQL) are typically required. Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and self-motivation are standout soft skills for remote collaboration and project delivery. These skills and qualities ensure reliable, scalable software development and seamless teamwork across distributed environments.

How do Remote Full Stack Developers using Node.js typically collaborate with distributed teams and manage project workflows?

Remote Full Stack Developers working with Node.js often collaborate through agile project management tools, version control systems like Git, and communication platforms such as Slack or Microsoft Teams. Daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and code reviews are common practices to keep everyone aligned and ensure smooth project progression. Since team members may be in different time zones, clear documentation and asynchronous communication are essential. Developers are usually responsible for both backend and frontend tasks, so they frequently liaise with UI/UX designers, QA engineers, and product managers to deliver cohesive applications.

What is the difference between Remote Full Stack Developer Node Js vs Remote Front End Developer?

Job description

Founding Engineer (AI Agents + Frontend Craft)

Location: Remote (U.S.) — strong preference for NYC | 4+ hours overlap with Eastern Time daily
Compensation: $180,000–$220,000 base
Equity: 0.2%–0.5%
Visa: No New sponsorship (H1B transfers and TNs only)

About Our Client

Our client is building AI infrastructure for trial attorneys. The goal is simple (and high-stakes): deliver AI output reliable enough to be used in litigation workflows where accuracy, traceability, and defensibility matter. They’re a small, fast-moving team (4–5 people) looking for a founding engineer who can ship product quickly while building the agent systems and evaluation loops that keep quality high.

The Role

This is a high-ownership, high-range founding role. You’ll own frontend craft for the primary AI interface and go deep on agent architecture—orchestrators, sub-agents, tool-use patterns, and evaluation loops. You’ll move between polished UX work and core agent infrastructure, often in the same week (sometimes the same day).

If you thrive in early-stage environments and want to build a product where correctness is non-negotiable, this role is built for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and ship across the full stack—React, Next.js, TypeScript, backend services, and AI systems—often within the same day
  • Own third-party integrations end-to-end (scoping → implementation → deployment), including tools like Clio, iManage, Salesforce, and others
  • Collaborate closely with a small team of full-stack and data engineers to improve system stability, performance, and delivery velocity
  • Develop AI-powered features for litigation workflows, including:
    • document extraction
    • agent orchestration (orchestrators + sub-agents)
    • RAG pipelines
    • anti-hallucination scaffolding and reliability guardrails
  • Contribute to backend optimization and system upgrades to improve reliability at scale
  • Move fast when issues arise—this is a startup where adaptability and urgency are part of the job

What Our Client Is Looking For

  • Strong full-stack fundamentals with excellent frontend craft (React/Next.js/TypeScript)
  • Practical experience building agentic systems or strong interest with the ability to learn quickly: tool-use patterns, orchestration, retrieval, and eval loops
  • Experience owning integrations with third-party APIs and systems (auth, rate limits, edge cases, monitoring)
  • A “ship it” mindset: you can iterate fast without sacrificing quality and you can explain what you built
  • Comfortable in ambiguity and excited by early-stage ownership
  • Strong communication skills—clear, direct, and collaborative

Compensation & Equity

  • Base salary: $180,000–$220,000
  • Equity: 0.2%–0.5% (founding-hire level ownership)

Location & Work Authorization

  • Remote U.S.-based, with strong preference for NYC
  • Eastern Time overlap: 4+ hours daily
  • No visa sponsorship (H1B transfers and TNs only)

Interview Process

  1. Intro Call (20–30 min): founders assess communication style, startup readiness, and how you work day-to-day (no technical evaluation)
  2. Take-Home Challenge: timed coding exercise + Loom walkthrough explaining approach and decisions (tests shipping ability and self-auditing)
  3. Technical Deep Dive (60 min): live walkthrough of take-home with founders—tests depth of understanding, decision-making, and ability to defend tradeoffs
