Job description

DomainTools is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Frontend Team. This position is perfect for someone interested in building powerful cybersecurity products and features for our enterprise customers. Our solutions help fuel mission critical efforts for customers including gathering threat intelligence, doing threat hunting, and performing online fraud investigation, and more.

At DomainTools, you will work as part of a collaborative team of smart and engaged engineers. Expect to spend most of your time developing modern JavaScript single page applications powered by PHP middleware APIs. You will work in an environment where productivity is fostered. You will spend very little time in meetings, and you won’t be distracted by processes that get in the way of high-quality results.

Have you worked with modern PHP OOP frameworks such as Laravel of Symfony? Are you well versed in using CSS and UX to make beautiful and streamlined designs? Have you built successful end to end testing solutions? If you answered yes to any of these questions we would like to chat with you. However, it is required that you are very comfortable with JavaScript.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Produce well designed, testable, efficient code using software development best practices.
  • Integrate with and utilize data from backend services and databases.
  • Build web applications using PHP on the backend and JavaScript (ES7+), HTML5, and CSS3 on the frontend.
  • Contribute to new product ideation and implementation as well as to feature development of existing products.
  • Collaborate with teammates by actively participating in code reviews, contributing to technical documentation, and offering constructive design feedback.
  • Become a subject matter expert on DomainTools’ customer facing products and services.

Requirements

  • Work experience: 3+ years of modern web application development.
  • Experience with modern PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony).
  • Solid knowledge of the following:
    • Object oriented PHP 7+ programming
    • JavaScript (ES7+)
    • TypeScript
    • HTML5 and CSS3
  • Deep understanding of React 18+ and Redux.
  • Experience with unit and integration testing (PHPUnit, Jest).
  • Demonstrable experience building and consuming APIs.
  • Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Experience with container technologies, particularly Docker.

Pluses:

  • Familiarity with configuring Babel, Webpack, and ESLint.
  • Experience with orchestration platforms, particularly Kubernetes.
  • Experience with user acceptance/E2E testing (TestCafe, Playwright).
  • Familiarity interacting with relational databases (MySQL).
  • Experience with UX design and related concepts.
  • Experience using agile principles and methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
