What you'll do

Docusign is looking for a highly motivated frontend Software Engineer to join our commerce platform team. This person will work in a close knit development team of 4-6 engineers to develop, test, and support features and experimentation on ecom.docusign.com, app.docusign.com and adjacent experiences.

The Commerce engineering team offers unique learning opportunities where you will be directly involved in end-to-end customer experience ownership across a large surface area of product and engineering collaboration. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Engineering Manager, Commerce Platform. 

Responsibility

  • Design and develop high-quality, user-focused experiences - we currently use React/Node.js

  • Build, maintain, and scale a robust UI

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive automated tests, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, to ensure reliability and stability

  • Work within an Agile development environment, leveraging best practices like CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and effective code reviews

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to create seamless user-facing applications

  • Work as part of a cross-site development team to drive the design, implementation, testing, and release of products

  • Identify and address potential technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and usability issues before they impact product delivery

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the frontend ecosystem

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Informatics, or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of professional experience in the backend and frontend development, specializing in the React/Node.js ecosystem and user-facing applications

  • Experience developing and shipping highly scalable, consumer-facing web applications

  • Experience working in Agile environments, utilizing best practices for version control (Git), CI/CD workflows, and automated testing

Preferred

  • Passion for performance optimization, user experience, and maintainable architectures

  • Experience with Next.js for server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG)

  • Familiarity with Rest APIs

  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (Azure) and cloud-native architecture

  • Strong understanding of web accessibility (a11y), internationalization (i18n), telemetry, and experimentation frameworks

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $118,000.00 - $183,050.00 base salary

Washington: $111,900.00 - $162,250.00 base salary 

This role is also eligible for the following:

  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
  • Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
