WEC Business Services LLC, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an Enterprise Applications Developer in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Green Bay, Wisconsin, or Chicago, Illinois location. This position currently offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time regularly spent in the office.

This position is part of a job family (Associate IT Applications Analyst, IT Applications Analyst, and Senior IT Applications Analyst) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary

This IT Applications Analyst will participate with the design, development, deployment, support, and maintenance of enterprise-level software solutions. The applicant will have an understanding of software development across multiple platforms. The applicant should possess a technical understanding of web applications, databases, cloud technologies, and systems integration.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain complex web-based applications and enterprise software solutions.
  • Architect and implement scalable application solutions using modern development frameworks and best practices.
  • Administer, maintain, optimize, and integrate SQL Server databases within enterprise web applications.
  • Develop, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud-based solutions within Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor API endpoints to support system integration and business operations.
  • Lead or contribute to software development projects ranging from small enhancements to large-scale enterprise initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to gather requirements and deliver business solutions.
  • Perform data processing, migration, and systems maintenance activities, including support for legacy environments.
  • Support software deployment processes, release management, and production troubleshooting.
  • Develop and enforce standardized technical policies, procedures, and operational documentation.
  • Participate in system architecture reviews, security assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support and administer AI frameworks/models used in the software development lifecycle.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, MIS, Data Science, Information Science, Engineering is required. Other bachelor's degrees will be considered based on related IT experience. Successful completion of a certified Application Development Apprenticeship will also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong background of AI Framework and AI Development models.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting skills and a strong understanding of networking concepts.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle, production support, application architecture, related technical roles. 
  • Proficiency in the administration, deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Azure, Python, Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio and VSCode.
  • Experience leading or participating in/with development teams of various sizes and organizational structures in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture, systems modernization initiatives and CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure management.

Pay Range Minimum:  $68,436.68 

Pay Range Maximum:  $135,761.08 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
