Billing and Revenue Analyst

Vision Government Solutions is a leading Government Technology firm providing cutting-edge software and services to the public sector. Our organization is quickly ramping growth, and we are looking for people to join our team to help us do that successfully.
About the Role:
The Billing & Revenue Analyst is a key member of our Accounting & Finance team and plays a critical role in supporting the full billing and revenue lifecycle. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position ensures accurate invoice, compliant revenue recognition, and reliable financial reporting.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, private-equity-backed environment, enjoys improving processes, and is looking to grow within a dynamic SaaS finance organization.
Responsibilities include:
โ€ข Prepare, review, and issue accurate invoices across subscription, appraisal, and implementation revenue streams.
โ€ข Validate billing details against signed customer contracts.
โ€ข Maintain recurring billing schedules, manage renewals, and ensure timely, accurate billing cycles.
โ€ข Support monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close activities, including journal entries.
โ€ข Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue schedules.
โ€ข Perform monthly reconciliations of revenue accounts and investigate variances.
โ€ข Support analyses of ARR/MRR movement, churn, expansions, and contract modifications.
โ€ข Identify opportunities to streamline and automate billing and revenue processes to improve accuracy and scalability.
โ€ข Contribute to financial systems improvements and process enhancements tied to PE-driven growth initiatives (e.g., workflow automation, reporting visibility).
โ€ข Collaborate closely with the broader Finance & Accounting team to ensure timely close and accurate internal reporting.
โ€ข Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit requests.
โ€ข Respond to customer billing inquiries professionally and accurately.
An ideal candidate for this role will have the following abilities and traits:
Skills and Ambitions:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
โ€ข 2-4+ years of experience in billing, revenue operations, or accounting.
โ€ข Strong understanding of SaaS subscription models, contract billing, and revenue processes.
โ€ข Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups) with strong analytical skills.
โ€ข High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
โ€ข Experience in a PE-backed, high-growth SaaS environment preferred.
โ€ข Hands-on experience with ERP, CRM, or billing platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce).
โ€ข Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
