Position Overview

Home and Community Mental Care, Inc. is actively seeking dedicated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) to join our team in providing essential therapy services to children and families in need. Work Environment

This position operates within a virtual setting, allowing you to interact with families via telehealth platforms. You will have the support of an integrated healthcare team while working from the comfort of your home or any suitable remote location. Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, you will have a range of responsibilities including:

  • Conducting individual and family therapy sessions aimed at improving mental health outcomes for children and their caregivers.
  • Utilizing evidence-based practices to address behavioral issues, including self-injurious behaviors and aggression, through structured interventions.
  • Implementing therapeutic techniques such as anger management and social skills training during in-home visits or remote sessions.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including the Child Family Treatment Team, to create comprehensive treatment plans targeting specific family challenges.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Participating in case consultations and team meetings to discuss therapeutic strategies and share insights for continuous improvement.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on providing therapy to children aged 3-20 who are facing developmental challenges and intellectual disabilities. You will work closely with their families, ensuring they are actively involved in the therapeutic process to foster a supportive environment at home.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess the following:

  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during late afternoon and evening hours (4 PM - 7 PM), with flexibility for some weekend hours.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation for home visits, as necessary.
  • A clean criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
Preferred Experience

Successful candidates will ideally have:

  • Experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
  • Demonstrated skills in providing positive behavior support and intervention strategies.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese to engage effectively with a bilingual client population.
