Job description

Freese and Nichols is seeking SME Data Analytics in any Freese and Nichols location. As SME Data Analytics-Water Modeling, you will serve as a specialized technical leader who helps strengthen how teams use data, modeling, tools, and standards to improve delivery quality, solve complex problems, and build scalable capabilities across the practice.


What You'll Do
  • Provide expert guidance to project teams and technical staff on data analytics, modeling approaches, tools, methods, and best practices within your area of expertise
  • Analyze current workflows, tools, and delivery practices to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for greater consistency, automation, and efficiency
  • Develop and implement improved processes, templates, standards, and resources that reduce rework and support scalable project delivery across teams and offices
  • Mentor and coach staff on new tools and methodologies to strengthen internal capabilities and expand technical depth in the practice
  • Create, review, and validate technical documentation, user guides, training materials, and other resources that support consistent application of methods and standards
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues, evaluate options, and recommend practical solutions that improve project performance and decision-making
  • Partner with National Technical Leaders, National Technical Specialists, project teams, and other stakeholders to align technical strategies with business goals and delivery needs
  • Lead and support research, innovation, and quality efforts that advance Freese and Nichols' capabilities and elevate the technical quality of deliverables
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to provide technical direction and motivate diverse teams to adopt new technologies and improve processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information to both expert and non-technical audiences
  • Proactive, analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate technical risks and solve complex engineering challenges
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, learning, and staying current with evolving technologies and industry trends

Preferred

  • Master's degree in a related technical field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience with a focus on technology leadership or innovation
  • Proven track record as a Subject Matter Expert or in a similar specialized role
  • Experience developing technical documentation, training materials, templates, or standards that improve delivery consistency and quality

The annual salary range for this position is $141,086 - $187,671 and is dependent on candidate's qualifications as compared to minimum and preferred requirements. Exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay at a straight-time hourly rate for any hours over forty (40) hours per week. Employees are eligible for annual bonuses and amounts are determined by company profitability and growth, and for employees at higher compensation grades, group and personal performance are also considered.
