Pro Wellness and Mental Health Clinic is actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team. Located in Randolph, New York, Pro Wellness and Mental Health Clinic is committed to providing exceptional mental health services tailored to children and their families. We specialize in Intensive In-Community therapy for children and teens facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Our multidisciplinary approach integrates therapy with behavioral support to enhance the overall well-being of our clients.

As a member of our outpatient team, you will work primarily in client homes or our outpatient office setting, focusing on delivering therapeutic services that address the unique challenges faced by families. Regular meetings and ongoing training ensure that our therapists stay informed on best practices in mental health treatment.

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions tailored to meet the specific needs of children and families, either in client homes or at our outpatient center.
• Implement behavior management strategies and therapeutic techniques that aim to improve coping skills, social skills, and reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injury and aggression.
• Work closely with caregivers to develop decision-making skills and strategies for managing in-home behavioral challenges effectively.
• Collaborate with a Child Family Treatment Team, engaging with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive support for the youth and family.
• Ensure all client-related documentation, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, is completed accurately and submitted within designated timelines.
• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss progress and submit recommendations for improved treatment approaches.

This role predominantly focuses on children aged 3 to 20 years who present with developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will provide support not only to the children but also to their primary caregivers, assisting them in navigating the complexities of raising children with special needs. Your work directly contributes to their emotional and behavioral development, ultimately leading to improved family dynamics and healthier relationships.

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.
• Strong experience in providing positive behavior support in a therapeutic setting.
• Proficient background in working with children aged 3-20 with intellectual and developmental disabilities is essential.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client homes.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required prior to employment.

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is highly desirable.
• Experience using therapeutic methodologies that address high-risk behaviors, enhancing social skills and emotional coping strategies.
• Previous work with families to promote collaborative problem-solving approaches.
