Job description

Who you are:

Business Operations at Hometap is responsible for the performance of Hometap's core HEI business and the operating rhythm that drives it. As Hometap's Business Operations Analyst, you will partner directly with the Manager, Business Operations, on the reports, dashboards, and analyses needed to keep that rhythm running, building over time toward total ownership of these outputs, including presentation to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership.

Beyond your strong quantitative and interpersonal skills, you are precise, resourceful, and inquisitive-you take pride in the quality and accuracy of your work; you find creative solutions to problems big and small; and you're not afraid to ask questions when you encounter a gap in your knowledge. You welcome ambiguity, approach problems methodically, and adapt as situations evolve. Finally, you demonstrate proactivity and encourage confidence in your work by anticipating stakeholder needs and building rigor into processes as you go.

While you will primarily work with the Manager, Business Operations, on a day-to-day basis, you will also increasingly collaborate with cross-functional partners in Growth Marketing, Sales, Investment Operations, and other business units. If you're eager to prove yourself, expand your scope, and build relationships as you grow, then this role is for you. Ideally, you're Boston-based and interested in working out of our Boston office a few days a week.

What you'll do:

  • Own production of weekly and monthly performance reporting, analyzing KPI trends to inform stakeholders of what's happening and why
  • Maintain and update Hometap's primary commercial forecasting model, building toward deeper involvement in model logic and design
  • Run analyses on an ad-hoc basis to answer business questions from leadership and cross-functional stakeholders as they arise
  • Support strategic analysis by pulling and manipulating data under Manager's direction, growing toward ownership of framing and delivery
  • Build, maintain and iterate on Tableau dashboards as needed
  • Support quarterly and annual planning by participating in and eventually owning scenario formulation
  • Provide change management support and facilitate execution of cross-functional projects, with room to manage a project of your own as your role expands

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in an analytical role, preferably on a business, operations, or strategy-oriented team
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, and Tableau (or similar BI tool)
  • Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for collaborating and building cross-functional relationships
  • A self-starter mindset and a bias toward ownership, with the judgment to know when something needs to be escalated versus handled independently
  • Innate curiosity and creativity-eagerness to learn about and iterate on processes, products, and industries
  • Comfort working in a remote-first environment-managing time appropriately, reaching out proactively, and delivering with a high degree of accountability

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in Fintech, Proptech, or an early-stage/high-growth company
  • Familiarity with dbt, GitHub and/or GitLab
  • Ability to work out of Hometap's Boston office on a regular basis is ideal, but not required

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000, depending on your experience, skills, location, and other factors. You'll also receive meaningful equity, so you can share in our growth and success. We offer generous medical, dental, and vision coverage, a work-from-home stipend, parental leave, and plenty of paid time off to recharge.
