Job description

General Purpose

Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Reimbursement, the Reimbursement Manager is a pivotal role combining advanced technical expertise with team leadership. This position is responsible for executing senior-level reimbursement analysis while actively managing a small team. You will coordinate workloads to ensure the flawless and timely delivery of cost reports and audit materials across our multi-state post-acute platform. Additionally, you will act as a strategic partner to our operational leaders, providing ad hoc reporting and critical data models necessary to project and support reimbursement rates.

Essential Duties

  • Direct, mentor, and manage a small team of reimbursement professionals. Allocate and monitor daily workloads to ensure team goals, cost report deadlines, and audit timelines are met seamlessly.

  • Execute senior-level preparation, review, and final submission of annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, ensuring complete regulatory compliance across multiple states.

  • Partner with regional and facility operational leaders to provide ad hoc reporting, data analysis, and financial forecasting to project, justify, and support reimbursement rates.

  • Coordinate the collection and delivery of audit materials for external audits conducted by Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) and state Medicaid agencies.

  • Leverage a high-level understanding of corporate accounting functions to perform complex revenue recognition analysis, review contractual allowances, and reconcile reimbursement data with general ledger activity.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of dedicated healthcare cost reporting experience, with deep expertise in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or post-acute care regulations.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (preferably in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field).

  • High-level knowledge of corporate accounting functions and financial modeling. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, data manipulation) and specialized cost reporting software.

  • Proven ability or strong aptitude for managing direct reports, balancing a team's workload, and driving collaborative results.

  • Superb analytical capabilities with a sharp eye for identifying trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities within complex datasets.

Physical Demands

  • Primarily sedentary role with extended periods of computer work and intensive data analysis.

  • Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 10-20 lbs).

  • Regular use of hands for typing, 10-key numeric entry, and standard office equipment.

  • Acute visual depth perception required to read, review, and audit extensive spreadsheets and detailed government compliance documents.

  • Clear verbal and written communication required.

Salary range would be $110 K- $135K, based on experience
