Their responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, risk management, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. They use digital tools to communicate with teams, track project progress, and report on financial outcomes. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as proficiency with financial software.

Job description

WYOMING BUSINESS COUNCIL - COMMUNITY GRANTS PORTFOLIO MANAGER

The Community Grants Portfolio Manager works closely with Wyoming communities to amplify their growth potential by addressing barriers to economic growth. When communities partner with businesses on projects that enhance business retention and growth or workforce attraction and retention, communities ultimately have meaningful opportunities to unlock positive economic growth locally and statewide. This role oversees various community grant programs designed specifically for that purpose. The Community Grants Portfolio Manager evaluates and analyzes complex project applications to assess economic impact, return on state investment, among other critical variables, and develops funding recommendations. This effort includes creating and proposing evolving initiatives, rules, and guidelines designed to strengthen communities, grant program value and meet future needs. For the greatest impact in this role, it's essential to develop and maintain close relationships with communities, economic development groups, and the WBC team for not only strong collaboration, but also as a key player in statewide packaging of large development projects that complement and bolster the State's economic development strategy.

Who we are:

The Wyoming Business Council focuses on identifying policies or systematic limiting factors that are constraining state and local economies. This is not about short-term wins but rather sustainable opportunities to build resilience: policies, investments, programs, and services designed to unlock long-term, systemic change.

We are a diverse team of people across the entire state of Wyoming, working together to create new opportunities for current and future generations of Wyomingites. By activating our individual purpose and leveraging our strengths, we're realizing diverse, broad and lasting growth for Wyoming's present and future.

The WBC's Investment Team understands the financial landscape of economic development necessary to help Wyoming businesses and communities secure the right financing for sustainable projects that contribute to Wyoming's lasting growth. The investments team develops and administers programs providing financial support to local governments and assists Wyoming businesses in reaching their financial goals through business and industry analysis, credit analysis, financial due diligence, business plan review, large loan applications, and loan processing and services.

Who you are:

You're excited about Wyoming's future and driven to inspire others toward new heights. As theCommunity Grants Portfolio Manager, you are a resilient, creative, and ambitious leader. You are gifted at building and promoting trust among many stakeholders toward strengthening future opportunities for Wyoming's communities and businesses. As theCommunity Grants Portfolio Manager, you thrive in the economic development world having experience with various grant investment programs and applying rigorous standards while balancing project-specific needs. You've worked with various stakeholders and leveraged partnerships to maximize publicly owned infrastructure investments that support development strategies. For you, developing creative grant investment solutions that build on community and statewide goals is fulfilling and energizing. As WBC's Community Grants Portfolio Manager, you are passionate about empowering the community and business interdependence through investment solutions that meet the needs of the unique communities they serve. You're a proactive leader who is resilient, creative, ambitious, and willing to take some risks in pursuit of a thriving Wyoming.

This position has the flexibility to be located anywhere in the state of Wyoming. While WBC does have office space in some locations around the state, it may not be an option where you are located. Applicants are advised to be prepared to work from home and travel frequently.
