Job description

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support a contract assignment for an environmental services organization based in Stamford, Connecticut. This Contract position calls for someone who is detail oriented and can work effectively with large, complex data sets in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. The ideal candidate brings strong financial systems knowledge, hands-on experience with cash application and accounts receivable activity, and the ability to turn data into clear operational insights.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze high-volume financial and transactional data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Manage cash application activities by accurately matching incoming payments to customer accounts and resolving posting exceptions.
• Support accounts receivable operations through timely cash posting, payment reconciliation, and follow-up on outstanding items.
• Use NetSuite and related tools to review financial records, validate data integrity, and produce actionable reporting.
• Navigate large data sets to extract meaningful information for business decisions, forecasting support, and performance tracking.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to investigate variances, clarify account activity, and maintain accurate financial documentation.
• Contribute to project-based financial work through data mining, structured analysis, and insight generation in a deadline-driven environment.
• Leverage technology and analytical tools, including AI-enabled solutions when applicable, to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.• 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, cash applications, accounts receivable, or a related finance function.
• Practical experience using NetSuite in support of financial transactions, reporting, or reconciliation activities.
• Strong background in cash posting, payment application, and maintaining accuracy in high-volume transaction environments.
• Proven ability to work with large data sets and perform data mining to support financial decision-making.
• Advanced technical aptitude with financial systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
