Remote Filtration information

What are the unique challenges of working in a remote filtration role, and how can job seekers prepare for them?

Remote filtration professionals often face challenges related to monitoring and troubleshooting filtration systems from a distance, which requires strong technical acumen and excellent communication skills. Since on-site presence is limited, it’s important to be proficient with remote monitoring software, data analysis, and virtual collaboration tools. Additionally, you may need to coordinate with on-site teams or clients to ensure system performance and address issues promptly. Preparing by familiarizing yourself with industry-standard SCADA systems and maintaining proactive communication habits can help you succeed in this environment.

Remote Filtration and Remote Pump Technician roles share similar credentials and work environments, often within industrial or manufacturing sectors. While both focus on equipment maintenance, filtration specialists concentrate on filtering systems, whereas pump technicians handle pump systems. Understanding these differences helps job seekers find the right remote opportunities aligned with their skills and certifications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote filtration technician?

To thrive as a Remote Filtration Technician, you need knowledge of filtration systems, mechanical aptitude, and relevant technical training or certification in industrial maintenance or environmental technology. Familiarity with remote monitoring tools, SCADA systems, and filtration equipment is typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication help technicians excel in troubleshooting and collaborating with remote teams. These competencies ensure efficient system operation, minimize downtime, and support safe, compliant filtration processes.

What is a remote filtration?

A Remote Filtration job involves managing or overseeing filtration systems, such as those used in water treatment, air purification, or industrial processes, from a remote location. Professionals in this role use digital monitoring tools and control systems to ensure that filtration equipment operates efficiently and meets safety and quality standards. They may also troubleshoot issues, analyze performance data, and coordinate maintenance or repairs without being physically present at the site. This type of job typically requires technical expertise in filtration systems and familiarity with remote monitoring technologies.

Ideal candidates will live in any of the posted metropolitan areas and in the Central or Eastern time zones. If you are an internal candidate already working remotely, you can maintain this arrangement. ** #Li-Remote

You will:

  • Partner with business stakeholders and SAP functional teams to analyze requirements and design, develop, and test robust SAP solutions supporting core RTR processes with particular attention to the CO module.
  • Gather and prioritize business requirements, translate them into functional specifications, and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
  • Lead and support RTR-related projects and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Perform hands-on configuration in S/4HANA for standard cost estimates, variance analysis, material master data for costing purposes and inter-company processes.
  • Drive fit-gap analysis, solution design, and preparation of functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional workstreams to design seamless end-to-end processes and integrations.
  • Lead or contribute to testing activities, including unit testing, integration testing, UAT coordination, defect resolution, and cutover planning.
  • Provide deep functional expertise and production support for RTR processes, including incident resolution and break-fix solutions.
  • Create and maintain essential project documentation, including business requirements, functional/technical specifications, and test scripts.
  • Influence RTR process strategy by recommending best practices and innovative solutions that align with enterprise goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize system performance and enhance user experience.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the organization.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Information Systems, Business, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA RTR (Record-to-Report) processes.
  • Minimum three full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementations, with direct involvement in RTR process design and deployment.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Scrum, ADO, Kanban).
  • Strong knowledge of Product Costing sub-module (CO-PA and CO-PC), cost structure configuration and analysis, cost components, costing run, variance analysis, activity rates, WIP calculation and integrations with other SAP modules and external systems.
  • Proficient in configuration and testing of SAP S/4HANA RTR modules.
  • Experience developing functional specifications, test scripts, and process documentation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • SAP certification in CO, S/4HANA, or related modules preferred.
