You'll collaborate closely with our Full Stack Project Lead, Back End Developer, and UI/UX Designer to deliver secure, performant, and emotionally engaging experiences.

What You'll Do

  • Build and ship iOS and Android applications using React Native, ensuring seamless performance across devices.
  • Own the deployment process to the App Store and Google Play, including provisioning, compliance, and updates.
  • Collaborate with the Full Stack Project Lead, Back End Developer, and UI/UX Designer to translate requirements into user-ready features.
  • Integrate with AWS services (e.g., Cognito, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB) for authentication, storage, and APIs.
  • Ensure performance, scalability, and security of mobile apps within the AWS ecosystem.
  • Write clean, maintainable code with a focus on reusability, testing, and reliability.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize mobile apps based on QA and user feedback.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and best-practice improvements.

What You'll Bring

  • 3-6+ years experience in mobile app development, with at least one production app launched on both iOS and Android.
  • Strong proficiency in React Native and its ecosystem (navigation, hooks, state management).
  • Experience integrating and managing applications in an AWS environment.
  • Solid understanding of mobile deployment workflows, certificates, and store submission guidelines.
  • Ability to collaborate with designers and back end developers, ensuring smooth handoffs and shared understanding.
  • Familiarity with mobile-first design patterns and performance optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance speed with code quality.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with multimedia handling (image/video upload, transcoding, playback).
  • Experience with consumer SaaS products, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile app deployment.
  • Interest in privacy-first architecture and building software that prioritizes user trust.

How We Work

  • Flexible hours with core overlap for collaboration.
  • Remote-friendly, with preference for hybrid collaboration in Charleston, SC (work sessions with leadership, user tests, occasional shoots).
  • We welcome contractors, part-time, or full-time; contract-to-hire is an option. Equity available for the right fit.
