Description

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor, Technical Services Analyst and Field Support Engineer to join the SAIC Datalink Group. This Field Engineer leader will be based ON-SITE at our Mission Valley office in San Diego, CA. You will work directly with Datalink Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to provide critical support across multiple Department of Defense (DoD) programs. In this role, you will lead a diverse team of Technical Service Analysts, remote Field Service Engineers, and Subject Matter Experts who provide essential support to customers in the field and across various programs. You will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and optimizing team performance in alignment with the goals and requirements of a dynamic mission-focused organization.

JOB DUTIES:

In collaboration with JRE SMEs and senior leadership, you will focus your efforts on ensuring successful execution of operations for the following programs:

  • Joint Tactical Extension Program (JTEP)
  • Link 16 Alaska
  • Pocket J
  • Joint Range Extension Support to 609 ACOMS at Shaw AFB

Your key duties include:

 1. Leadership and Management:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of onsite Technical Services Analysts, remote Field Service Engineers, and SMEs.
  • Train and support team members, ensuring technical proficiency, professional growth, and successful collaboration.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, implementing and improving resource distribution and operational workflows.

 2. Customer and Program Support:

  • Oversee the installation of software maintenance releases, hardware upgrades, system integration, training and diagnostic testing for resolving product and performance-related challenges.

 3. Field Support and Customer Liaison:

  • Provide oversight and integration support for hardware and software products, network configurations, and new system initiatives.
  • Collaborate with customers and senior-level leadership, resolving complex technical support issues and identifying product improvement opportunities.

4. Training:

  • Plan, prepare, and conduct team training and on-the-job demonstrations to support skill development and team alignment.
     

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring technical teams, including remote service engineers and analysts with significant autonomy.
  • Hands-on experience with the implementation, integration, and support of hardware, software, and multi-vendor systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with a background in managing logistics support, system integration, and operational communications.
  • Proficient knowledge of network systems and tactical communication technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead briefings and interface with senior-level stakeholders and customers.
  • Proficiency in identifying operational efficiencies and implementing process improvements to achieve objectives.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Prior hands-on experience with Joint Range Extension (JRE)/Joint Tactical Extension Program (JTEP).
  • Proficiency in Link 16 systems and related technologies, such as Pocket J and Link 16 Alaska.
  • Knowledge of Contractor Logistics Support and supporting field customers at sites, including 609 ACOMS at Shaw AFB.
  • Familiarity with JTRS, JREAP, LMMT, SPIDR, Networking, Crypto and various Tactical Radios.
  • Experience supporting military operations or similar mission-critical environments.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
