Remote Facets Testing information

What is remote Facets testing?

Remote Facets testing refers to the process of evaluating and validating the functionality, performance, and integration of the Facets system—a core administrative software used by healthcare payers—while working from a remote location. Testers typically use specialized tools and secure connections to simulate real-world scenarios, identify defects, and ensure compliance with business requirements. Remote Facets testing allows organizations to leverage global talent and maintain project momentum without the need for on-site presence.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Facets Tester, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Facets Tester, you need in-depth knowledge of healthcare claims processing, Facets application expertise, and experience with software testing methodologies, often supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with testing tools like HP ALM, Jira, SQL databases, and the Facets system itself is typically required, along with ISTQB or similar testing certifications. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work independently are critical soft skills for success in this remote role. These skills are essential to ensure accurate system validation, efficient issue resolution, and seamless collaboration across distributed teams in the healthcare technology sector.

What is the difference between Remote Facets Testing vs Remote User Experience Tester?

Search & Comparison IntentFocus on testing specific facets or featuresFocus on overall user experience and usability

Remote Facets Testing involves evaluating specific features or facets of a product, often within quality assurance teams. Remote User Experience Testers focus on assessing overall user experience, usability, and interface design. While both roles are remote and require some understanding of the product, facets testing emphasizes feature validation, whereas UX testing centers on user satisfaction and interaction quality.

What are some common challenges faced by remote Facets testers, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Facets testers often encounter challenges such as coordinating with distributed teams, ensuring consistent access to testing environments, and managing communication across different time zones. To address these issues, it’s important to establish clear communication channels (like regular video meetings and shared documentation), utilize secure remote access tools, and follow standardized testing procedures. Leveraging collaboration platforms and maintaining thorough documentation also help streamline workflows and reduce misunderstandings, ultimately leading to more effective testing outcomes.

Job description

Ready to be a Titan?
ServiceTitan strives to be the best place our Titans have ever worked, so they can do the best work they've ever done. The Experience Design (XD) team is central to this mission. We solve real world problems in the home services industry. We are passionate about bringing innovative and delightful solutions to traditional problems and workflows. Our ambitious team of product designers works closely with product managers, engineers, product marketers and with thousands of our users to help make their lives easier through technology. We embrace agile development and design thinking to ship dozens of new features every month. We measure our success based on our customer's success. We strive for real impact.
We are looking for a talented Staff Product Designer that enjoys solving complex problems with data-driven solutions. This role is focused on Back Office and Commercial experiences, designing for the people who run the financial and operational backbone of trades businesses. This person will be a core member of our growing design team and aid in creating a class-leading SaaS product with desktop, tablet and mobile touchpoints. They will possess a balanced toolkit of research, interface design, and prototyping capabilities.
As a Staff Product Designer you are capable of performing discovery research with users, creating journey maps and task flows, performing user interviews, white-boarding task flows, mocking up interface screens, and prototyping those solutions for further testing. You set a strong example and provide thoughtful direction within the team, often acting as a mentor and coach. You're known around the company for your creativity, leadership, and innovation.
This is an opportunity to join one of LA's fastest growing startups and have your thumbprint on the product that is actively disrupting the Home Services industry.
What You'll Do
  • Develop deep expertise across multiple product's problem areas
  • Quickly prototype solutions to visual and interaction problems
  • Use AI tools fluently as part of your everyday workflow to prototype faster, explore ideas earlier, and move from concept to working interaction
  • Build positive & collaborative relationships with multiple disciplines including product, engineering, and research to explore, build, and ship your work
  • Talk to users and understanding their problems and current pain-points
  • Design experiences that are simple, elegant, and solve real problems
  • Using remote tools to whiteboard, create wireframes and design in Figma to iterate toward a shippable solution
  • Partner effectively with teams in the US and across time zones, bringing strong async communication and a collaborative, low-ego working style
  • Validate product ideas through experimental design and research approaches.
  • Ship valuable and high-quality work without sacrificing speed
  • Help more junior designers develop empathy for our users and advocate for our users' needs
  • Represent our users in product strategy and roadmap discussions
  • Review product design work and give constructive feedback.
  • Be an active mentor for designers, helping them build context, strong decision making skills, and empathy for our users by providing feedback to help strengthen the team.

What You'll Need
  • Experience designing a modern SaaS or enterprise platform or one comparable
  • An outstanding portfolio, showcasing a range of UX, interaction and visual design, and idea generation or prototyping as a means to explore and convey design solutions
  • AI experience design: you understand how to make agentic workflows feel trustworthy, controllable, and clear to the people using them.
  • A love for solving complex product problems with simple design solutions, while balancing all facets of a user experience, such as strategy and research, information architecture, and interaction design
  • Expert knowledge and experience with driving and applying the end-to-end iterative design process including how to develop and use design research, user stories, journey mapping, wire-framing, prototyping, user testing, and high-fidelity visuals to achieve human-centered design solutions
  • Experience collaborating with other designers to build a cohesive product
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; you have the ability to help your team and stakeholders understand the "why" behind your design rationale
