About this position:

We're looking for a Senior PR Manager to lead Later's media relations and public relations strategy, building the company's voice and reputation across the creator economy, marketing, agency, and technology press. In this role, you'll be both strategic architect and hands-on practitioner, developing proactive press narratives, managing reactive and crisis communications, and positioning Later's executives as authorities in influencer marketing and the creator economy. Reporting to the Head of Marketing within the media team, you'll partner closely with Product Marketing, Content, Executive Leadership, Legal, and Later's external PR firm to secure high-impact coverage across all three lines of business (Later Influence, Later Social, and Creator/Affiliate). This is a high-visibility role with regular exposure to Later's executive team.This role is ideally a hybrid position with 3 days in office in our Boston or New York hubs, but remote applicants are considered.

What you'll be doing:

Strategy

  • Own Later's PR and communications strategy, aligning press narratives with corporate and product priorities across all three lines of business.
  • Define proactive PR campaigns and thought-leadership programs that build Later's authority in the creator economy and influencer marketing space.
  • Refine and maintain crisis communications protocols and reactive statement processes, in partnership with Product, Legal and Executive Leadership.
  • Set PR goals, KPIs, and reporting frameworks that connect earned media to brand awareness and demand generation.


Media relations & execution

  • Build and maintain relationships with tier-1 business, marketing, advertising, agency, and technology press, including outlets that profile executives and business leaders
  • Secure earned media coverage that drives measurable brand awareness and supports demand generation goals.
  • Draft press releases, media pitches, briefing documents, and executive talking points.
  • Prepare executives and subject-matter experts for interviews, panels, and press events.
  • Own media monitoring and competitive share-of-voice reporting against direct competitors and creator economy peers.


Team & collaboration

  • Partner with Product Marketing to align PR moments with product launches, new service offerings and go-to-market motions.
  • Partner with Content to identify data, research, and stories worth pitching to press.
  • Partner with People and Executive teams on internal communications tied to major external announcements.
  • Partner with the Events team for speaking opportunities and prepare executives and subject-matter experts for interviews, panels, and press events.
  • Partner with the Customer Marketing team for award submissions.
  • Partner with Growth Marketing team for full-funnel marketing campaigns around PR moments


Leadership

  • Act as Later's hands-on PR lead and subject matter expert for media relations and reputation management.
  • Balance day-to-day media relations execution with setting long-term communications strategy.
  • Foster a culture of proactive storytelling and fast, coordinated response to reactive press moments.


Research and best practices

  • Monitor the media landscape and competitor coverage across the creator economy and social media management space.
  • Track emerging trends in creator economy policy, platform changes, and AI that create press opportunities.
  • Share insights and evangelize communications best practices across Marketing and Growth teams.
What success looks like:
  • Within the first 30 days, you've audited Later's existing media relationships, built a prioritized media list, and launched your first proactive pitch.
  • By 3 months, Later has secured coverage in tier-1 business, marketing, advertising, agency, and technology press
  • By 6 months, Later is recognized as a go-to authority source in creator economy and influencer marketing press coverage, with measurable growth in share of voice against direct competitors.
  • Executives and spokespeople are consistently well-prepared for press opportunities, with a growing library of talking points, bylines, and briefing materials.
What you bring:
  • 7+ years of PR or communications experience, with a track record of securing tier 1 coverage in SaaS, marketing technology, or creator economy environments.
  • Established relationships with tier-1 business, marketing, advertising, agency, and technology press, including outlets that profile executives and business leaders.
  • Experience developing and managing crisis communications protocols.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to draft press releases, pitches, and executive talking points.
  • Experience with media monitoring and reporting tools such as Muck Rack, Cision, or Meltwater.
  • Comfortable working directly with senior executives to prepare them for press and public-facing moments.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in the creator economy, influencer marketing, or social media industry.
  • Agency background, with experience managing press strategy for a brand or in-house team.

We take a market-based & data-driven approach to compensation. We leverage data from trusted third-party compensation sources to help us understand the market value of a role based on function, level, geographic location, and scope. We evaluate compensation bi-annually, including performance and market-related factors.

Our salaries are benchmarked against market Total Cash Compensation for the geographic location of our job posting. Compensation for some roles is structured as On Target Earnings (OTE = base + commission/variable) while for others it is structured as Salary only.

To comply with local legislation and ensure transparency, we share salary ranges on all job postings. Skills, experience and other factors help determine the final salary we offer which may vary from the original range posted. 

Additionally, all permanent team members are eligible to participate in various benefits plans as part of their overall compensation package.

Salary Range: 

$130k-160k
