We are looking for a Principal Consultant - Utility Prudence Expert. We are open to hiring this person for our Washington, DC office, our Marlborough, Massachusetts headquarters, or remotely across the United States.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight, manage and execute deliverables for client engagement projects from various investor-owned utilities and other client types
  • Provide expertise and/or expert witness testimony on the prudence of energy/electric systems modernization
  • Provide expertise and/or expert witness testimony on the fiscal soundness of a utility in the course of rate recovery for recoverable capital costs
  • Provide expertise and/or expert witness testimony on utility rate cases
  • Assist with mergers and acquisitions between utilities and all associated due diligence aspects
  • Frequently evaluate the performance, frequency and revenue production of existing firm offerings, and recommend adjustments or enhancements to optimize consulting market share
  • Assist with business development opportunities and building new and existing utility client relationships

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Economics, Math, Finance, or Accounting
  • Master's Degree, MBA or PhD preferred
  • 10+ years� experience in the energy utility space, either at a consulting firm, a utility, a public utilities commission, or a Big 4 Accounting firm
  • Proven ability to generate consulting services sales and direct team-based business development tasks
  • Proven experience in leading the ideation, design, and implementation of new service offerings
  • Experience writing or providing expert witness testimony for utility rate cases or other utility regulatory proceedings
  • Very strong communication and presentation skills, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be able to present complex ideas and strategies to utility leadership
  • Requires occasional travel to client sites and regulatory hearings, typically throughout the US and Canada

Depending on the level hired, the base salary for this role will typically start at $200,000 plus annual incentive compensation bonus.
