Job description

Purpose Brands, the parent company of Orangetheory, Anytime Fitness, Waxing the City, and The Bar Method, is seeking a Regional Director of Fitness to join its Orangetheory Fitness team. This is a great position for someone who is looking to expand their career, and join a company with a fun, fast-paced and inspirational culture.
The Regional Director of Fitness (RDF) is responsible for driving fitness excellence, coaching quality, and an exceptional member experience across all COS Orangetheory Fitness studios. This leader oversees, supports, and develops Head Coaches and coaching teams, ensuring consistent delivery of the Orangetheory workout, strong fitness performance, and adherence to brand, safety, and coaching standards.
Working in close partnership with the Regional Director of Studio Performance, the Regional Director of Fitness ensures alignment between the fitness product, studio operations, sales execution, and member retention goals. This role requires a proven fitness leader with strong Orangetheory product knowledge, multi-site leadership experience, and a demonstrated track record of developing high-performing coaching teams.
Priority Candidates will live in the Orlando, Florida area, or within commuting distance to the Orlando, Florida studios.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to Head Coaches and fitness teams across all COS locations.
  • Ensure studios consistently deliver a premium Orangetheory workout experience, including proper exercise technique, member engagement, safety, and adherence to brand standards.
  • Facilitate Coach OTFit certification training for new coaches.
  • Partner with Head Coaches and Studio Managers to recruit, audition, hire, certify, onboard, and retain qualified coaches while maintaining appropriate staffing levels and succession plans.
  • Conduct regular class observations, coaching evaluations, fitness audits, and Head Coach performance reviews; establish action plans and provide ongoing feedback and accountability.
  • Monitor fitness performance indicators, including class utilization, attendance, workout traffic, coach capacity, member feedback, and retention, and develop strategies to improve results.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Director of Studio Performance and studio leaders to optimize class schedules, coaching coverage, staffing alignment, and fitness payroll efficiency.
  • Lead template rollout education, continuing education, regional workshops, biweekly Head Coach meetings, and quarterly coaching development sessions.
  • Ensure all coaches maintain required Orangetheory education, approved fitness certifications, CPR and AED certifications, and compliance with all continuing education requirements.
  • Foster a high-performance coaching culture through clear expectations, recognition, constructive feedback, leadership development, and consistent accountability.
  • Partner with studio leadership to execute benchmarks, challenges, DriTri events, specialty programs, member workshops, and community events that strengthen member engagement and retention.
  • Guide Head Coaches in resolving fitness-related member concerns and responding to member feedback with urgency, professionalism, and a commitment to service recovery.
  • Maintain an active presence across all studios, coach classes as needed, and ensure compliance with corporate policies, safety requirements, equipment standards, and Orangetheory fitness expectations.

Key Qualifications
  • Five (5) or more years of progressive leadership experience in the fitness industry, including responsibility for developing coaches or fitness leaders; multi-unit leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven success as an Orangetheory Head Coach, Regional Fitness Leader, or comparable fitness management professional; Orangetheory leadership experience preferred.
  • Current nationally accredited personal training or group fitness certification approved by Orangetheory Fitness.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, biomechanics, heart rate-based interval training, exercise modifications, and safe group fitness coaching practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, evaluate, and develop high-performing coaching teams while improving class quality, utilization, retention, and member satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to lead effectively both in person and virtually.
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned region and work a flexible schedule based on business needs.

Salary $80k - $90k + bonus eligibility
