• Build and maintain meaningful therapeutic relationships with clients, providing a trusting environment where they can openly explore their thoughts and emotions.
• Implement evidence-based counseling techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to assist clients in overcoming challenges and achieving personal goals.
• Employ active listening and empathetic communication to ensure clients feel understood and validated in their journeys.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, such as nurses and social workers, to create an integrated care plan that addresses both mental and physical health needs.
• Engage in regular professional development activities, including supervision and continuing education, to hone your skills and stay current with advancements in mental health care.

The primary client population consists of youth and families engaged in hospice care, facing complex emotional and psychological challenges. This role is fundamental in addressing grief, loss, and transition during difficult times. You will use your expertise to facilitate discourse around feelings of anxiety, depression, and anticipate loss, helping clients find solace and coping mechanisms in their circumstances.

• A Master's Degree in Social Work or a closely related field is mandatory.
• Current Nationally Recognized Licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) is required.
• Certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCC) is preferred.
• At least two years of direct experience in social work, particularly in mental health settings; five years of experience is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in using technology, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), to manage client records and documentation efficiently.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in hospice, palliative care, or end-of-life counseling. Skills in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and family therapy approaches will enhance your candidacy and effectiveness in this role.
