Job description

Derrevere Stevens Black & Cozad (DSB&C) a nationwide law firm with offices in Florida, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Vermont, is currently seeking a talented litigation attorney to join the Pennsylvania Regional Division of our firm's Workers’ Compensation Subrogation Practice Group. This position offers the flexibility of remote work and promises a vibrant, fast-paced, and enjoyable work environment.

Role Scope & Core Responsibilities:

As a member of the Workers’ Comp Subrogation team, you will:

  • Oversee a substantial portfolio of workers’ compensation subrogation claims with values ranging from several thousand to millionsof dollarsannually.
  • Conduct comprehensive intake, fact development, and technical loss investigations.
  • Lead expert retention and collaborate closely with specialists to build strong evidentiary foundations.
  • Draft pleadings, manage discovery, prepare and argue motions, and guide cases through mediation and trial.
  • Identifyrecovery opportunities, evaluate lien reimbursement potential, and develop strategic paths to maximize client outcomes.
  • Serve asa primarypoint of contact for clients,maintainingclear and proactive communication throughout each matter.

Qualifications & Professional Capabilities:

  • A valid Pennsylvania Bar license isrequired; admission into otherjurisdictionsis aplus as we are a 50-state practice.
  • Experience in subrogation, plaintiffproductsliability, or plaintiff personal injury is highly desirable.
  • 3–5 years of litigation experience withdemonstratedability to manage a varied caseload.
  • Ideal candidates should have taken or defended a minimum of 20 depositions as the primary attorney on the matter and should have attended a minimum of5mediations as the primary attorney.
  • An exceptional candidate will haveparticipatedin 5 or more trials, and have presentedopenings, closing, conductingvoir dire, and doing direct and cross-examinations of fact and expert witnesses.
