Become a Remote Sensing Technical Support Advisor in Vegetation Management at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll provide comprehensive technical support and operational management for Vegetation Management's GIS systems, AI diagnostic tools, and AI model infrastructure across the organization. This role ensures systems reliability, responsive troubleshooting, and optimal utilization of remote sensing technologies. As a Remote Sensing Technical Support Advisor in Vegetation Management, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Responsibilities
  • Leads complex GIS projects and initiatives ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with standards, and timely delivery.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all user inquiries and technical issues delivering frontline user support for tools and resolving access, functionality, and usability concerns.
  • Designs and develops advanced GIS workflows, automation scripts, and analytical models to optimize data management and spatial analysis.
  • Serves as a technical advisor for cross-functional teams, providing guidance on GIS integration with enterprise systems and emerging technologies. Tracks and reports platform and tool utilization to provide insights for process improvements and expanded applications.
  • Oversees data governance and quality assurance programs, ensuring enterprise data integrity and adherence to regulatory requirements. Provides feedback on the effectiveness of AI models, coordinating with data science and IT teams to resolve bugs or inconsistencies affecting geospatial results.
  • Manages vendor relationships and external partnerships for GIS platform enhancements, software, services, and data acquisition. Works with external vendors and internal stakeholders to coordinate platform enhancements, schedule updates and manage technical escalations.
  • Facilitates effective communication between user groups, the data science team, IT and vendors to expedite technical issue resolution.
  • Develops and implements advanced mapping standards and methodologies, driving consistency across business units. Develops and updates user documentation, technical guides and training resources to promote effective tool adoption.
  • Coordinates enterprise-level data remediation efforts, including validation, reconciliation, and alignment with field conditions to solve complex system-level problems that affect tools.
  • Mentors and provides technical leadership to lower-level GIS specialists, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
  • Conducts advanced spatial analytics and predictive modeling, supporting strategic planning and operational decision-making.
  • Prepares executive-level reports and presentations, translating complex geospatial insights into actionable business intelligence.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Seven or more years of experience in GIS and analyzing data.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in remote sensing, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience providing technical support for digital platforms or software tools.
  • Expert knowledge of remote sensing concepts and digital twin technologies.
  • Strong communication skills for assisting users and collaborating with technical teams.

Additional Information
  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
