Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager to oversee Federal environmental investigation and remediation projects.  This position can work from one of our offices in Chelmsford or Boston, MA, Providence, RI or Manchester, New Hampshire.  The position can be remote but the candidate needs to be located in the New England area.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages and directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects

  • Experience with CERCLA projects and federal facilities

  • Experience managing RI/FS, Remedial Design, Five Year Reviews

  • Regular client interaction on technical/cost/schedule topics

  • Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management

  • Project scheduling experience and expertise

  • Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance

  • Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager

  • Oversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies

  • Supervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work

  • Occasional overnight travel required

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Geology, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience  or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Due to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience directly as a project manager

  • Experience as a client facing professional with seller-doer ambitions.

  • Professional License (PE, PG) in New England states

  • 8+ years' experience in environmental remediation (soil, water, sediment, PFAS, munitions) project management

  • Master's degree in Geology, Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or related degree

  • Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations

  • Experience successfully managing environmental projects for Federal clients (USACE, Air Force, Navy, EPA)

  • Thorough working knowledge of RCRA and CERCLA processes

  • Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery

  • Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences

  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders

  • Interest in business development

  • Have led teams of professionals in executing Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessment, and Treatability Studies in support of Federal environmental projects
