Job description

This role is remote; ideal candidate should be located in Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio or Kentucky

Purpose

The Territory Sales Manager develops and expands relationships with independent wholesale distribution and retail customers and is responsible for delivering strategic account objectives that align with Roseburg's core values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Advisor
    • Understand and anticipate customers' existing and future needs in depth and communicate this within the team and organization
    • Develop compelling solutions to customer needs that differentiate Roseburg from our competition
    • Engage in both tactical and strategic account planning functions to achieve Roseburg objectives
    • Bring a fresh insight to customers' business that will help them deliver a competitive advantage within their market
    • Develop joint strategies that are mutually beneficial to both companies
  • Relationship Manager
    • Build and manage internal and external relationships that foster multiple levels of relationships with key leaders within Roseburg and customers' organization
    • Manage the contact matrix ensuring that all potential points of contact and influence are being attended to appropriately
    • Build trust throughout the customers' organization; influencing purchasing, sales, admin functions, etc.
  • Brand Manager
    • Manage expectations about how Roseburg branded products are targeted and used
    • Ensure Roseburg market strategy is being executed
    • Deliver guidelines to being a Roseburg program partner
    • Build, drive, and service demand for all Roseburg products through entire sales channel
    • Influence specification of Roseburg products where appropriate
  • Embrace the growing role of technology (CRM, virtual constructs, electronic commerce, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or Technical degree
  • Five (5) plus years' sales experience in the construction and/or building materials market segments
  • Ideal team player (hungry, humble, and smart)
  • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Understand and exhibit a sense of urgency
  • Outstanding listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong self-motivation and organizational skills
  • A basic understanding of financial principles
  • An understanding of the Roseburg product portfolio as well as our value over the competition
  • Good understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of our key competitors
  • Proven track record of success; demonstrating proficiency in selling skills, listening, probing techniques, identifying buying signals and negotiating for mutual benefit to Roseburg and the client
  • Valid driver license with a safe and proven driving record
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight approximately 50% of the time
