Job description

Citrix Engineer

The Citrix Engineer is responsible for the operational support and project initiatives involving our Citrix Remote Access environment. He/she is responsible for providing maintenance, support, and enhancements to the remote access systems including all published business critical applications and virtual desktops. He/she must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a multitude of assignments independently.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze, plan, test and implement application software (3rd party & custom developed) within the remote access environment
  • Actively pursue new technologies to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the remote access systems
  • Monitor and analyze the remote access systems to ensure 100% uptime with operational availability
  • Support high availability technologies (load-balancing)
  • Perform root cause analysis and provide recommendations to improve efficiencies and resolve problems
  • Resolve problems with remote access systems and technologies
  • Escalate problems to vendors or applications teams with supporting documentation
  • Provide troubleshooting training and documentation to the User Support team
  • Implement and maintain of the disaster recovery solutions
  • Document system uptime and usage metrics
  • Implement and maintain Group Policies to support the user experience with remote access systems
  • Maintain documentation of processes, procedures, troubleshooting guides and change management logs
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with remote access engineering
  • Specific Remote Access Administration experience including:
    • Citrix XenApp
    • Citrix XenDesktop
    • Citrix StoreFront
    • Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS)
    • Citrix XenServer
Preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Networking, Cisco products ideally
  • Citrix NetScaler
  • Experience with Windows Server
  • Experience with Windows 10
  • Experience with SCCM
  • Experience with SQL or relational database concepts
  • Experience with Powershell, or other scripting languages
