Position Overview:

We are seeking a technically strong, customer-facing Sales Engineer to support the growth of Aegisโ€™ custom and standard power electronics portfolio.

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on knowledge of AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC power conversion who thrives in a consultative sales environment. You will engage with engineering, procurement, program management, and military stakeholders, helping translate mission requirements into effective technical solutions.

Experience supporting defense, aerospace, or high-reliability systems is highly valued.

What you will do:

Technical Expertise & Solution Development Identify customer requirements and recommend appropriate power supply solutions Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers in defense and industrial sectors

  • Collaborate with customers to understand design challenges and align Aegis capabilities
  • Analyze market trends, competitors, and emerging technologies
  • Support strategic planning for sales, product development, and departmental initiatives

Customer Engagement & Sales Execution

  • Influence customer part selection and strategically position Aegis solutions
  • Partner closely with sales and engineering teams to develop winning strategies.
  • Visit customers across the U.S. and attend industry trade shows and defense events
  • Review RFQs, assess technical feasibility, and develop compliant proposals
  • Prepare quotes, presentations, and customer-facing technical documentation
  • Ensure accurate CRM activity tracking for leads, opportunities, and contracts
  • Participate in contract negotiations and work toward achieving annual sales targets

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with internal teams to support custom product development
  • Provide market feedback to influence product roadmap direction
  • Support proposal reviews, competitive analysis, and customer strategy

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant technical or engineering sales experience (including 3+ years in the defense industry)
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
  • Technical understanding of electronics manufacturing, system design, and power conversion
  • Knowledge of AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters and power electronics parameters
  • Proficiency with CRM software for lead tracking, quoting, reporting, and collaboration
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence technical decisions =
  • Ability to travel domestically (~25%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years selling to defense contractors or directly to the U.S. Department of Defense
  • Familiarity with defense standards such as:
    • MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, etc.
