What is a remote energy quant?

Remote Energy Quants are professionals who analyze and model energy markets, prices, and risks, typically working from a remote location. They use quantitative methods, such as statistical analysis and mathematical modeling, to forecast energy demand, supply, and price movements. Their work supports energy trading, investment decisions, and risk management for utilities, trading firms, and energy companies. The 'remote' aspect means they perform these tasks outside of a traditional office, utilizing digital tools for collaboration and data analysis.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote energy quant?

To thrive as a Remote Energy Quant, you need strong quantitative analysis skills, a background in mathematics or finance, and expertise in energy markets. These abilities are essential to accurately analyze market data, develop predictive models, and drive effective decision-making in the fast-paced energy sector.

How does a remote energy quant typically collaborate with trading and risk management teams while working off-site?

As a Remote Energy Quant, you will frequently interact with trading and risk management teams through virtual meetings, collaborative data platforms, and shared analytical tools. Full-time

Job description

Product at Brex

The Product team is at the forefront of Brex's mission to empower employees anywhere to make better financial decisions. With a deep understanding of the business, we identify and scope the most impactful opportunities for Brex to tackle. We align cross-functional teams-including Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Design-on key decisions, set strategy, and drive products from inception to launch.

What you'll do

Travel is one of the most complex-and stressful-areas of company spend. Growing companies must keep bookings moving, travelers supported, policies enforced, payments working, and expenses organized after every trip.

As Senior Product Manager, you will own and scale Brex Travel, our integrated travel experience. You will build across discovery, booking, trip organization, group travel, servicing, payments, and reconciliation-connecting every stage to Brex Card and Expense Management.

You will turn travel technology, inventory, and servicing partners into a cohesive Brex product. Across Engineering, Design, Operations, Partnerships, and GTM, you will drive adoption, bookings, volume, and reliability while using AI to reduce traveler and administrator effort.

Where you'll work

This role will be based in either our San Francisco, Seattle, or New York office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!

Responsibilities
  • Own the strategy and roadmap for the Brex Travel experience.
  • Build the journey across discovery, booking, trip organization, group travel, servicing, payments, and reconciliation.
  • Connect Travel with Brex Card and Expense Management so booking context flows through payment and accounting.
  • Turn partner technology, inventory, and servicing capabilities into a differentiated Brex product.
  • Own adoption, repeat usage, bookings, travel volume, conversion, and reliability.
  • Improve payment, change, disruption, and support workflows for travelers and administrators.
  • Use AI across planning, booking, trip management, servicing, and reconciliation to remove work.
  • Align Engineering, Design, Operations, Partnerships, Finance, Sales, and Customer Success around outcomes.
Requirements
  • A track record of owning and growing an end-to-end product.
  • Experience in travel, online booking, marketplaces, or another operationally complex domain.
  • Strong customer judgment alongside fluency in backend systems and operations.
  • Experience building on partner, platform, inventory, or servicing infrastructure.
  • Quantitative ownership of adoption, bookings, volume, conversion, or comparable marketplace metrics.
  • Fluency in servicing, payments, reconciliation, reliability, and exception handling.
  • Practical judgment about how AI can reduce customer and operational effort.
  • Travel product experience is strongly preferred; adjacent marketplace, payments, booking, or complex consumer-product experience can translate.
Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $184,000 - $230,000.  However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
