Job Description
UW Medicine - Eastside Specialty Center in Bellevue has an outstanding opportunity for a Per Diem Endoscopy Registered Nurse.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • Per diem schedule / variable hours per week
  • Must be available to work 10 hour day shifts, Monday - Friday
  • Shift times are 6:30am-5:00pm
  • No call responsibilities on nights or weekends

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Eastside Specialty Center is UW Medicine's largest ambulatory clinic. The Eastside Specialty Center has multiple specialties and is known for providing endoscopies, colonoscopies, cardiac tests, radiology exams, and medication infusions for patients living east of Seattle.
This position will specifically support our endoscopy and colonoscopy units, providing direct and indirect patient care. The Eastside Specialty Center has two procedure rooms and performs both upper and lower endoscopies.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Provide diagnostic and screening GI services
  • Work day shifts only - this position has no call responsibilities

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist providers during endoscopic and hemodynamic procedures
  • Provide patient care before, during, and after conscious sedation
  • Educate patients
  • Administer medication
  • Use and maintain endoscopic equipment
  • Help manage emergencies and complications
  • Assist with patient admissions, phone triage, and record keeping
  • Complete patient paperwork, including forms for insurance authorizations and disability accommodations

REQUIREMENTS
  • 2 years of recent procedural RN work experience, preferably in endoscopy
  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
  • BLS
  • Expert IV skills
  • Expert patient assessment, communication, and patient relations skills
