About the Role:

As a part of Charter Business Architecture Practice team, the Junior Business Architect is an entry-level role responsible for BA projects delivery according to the Charter’s methodologies in place. This includes participating in the client-facing engagements, creating essential deliverables such as business capability models, personas, journey maps and value streams.


With previous  experience in business architecture or related fields, exposure to corporate or public sector environments, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and practical experience in business process mapping and documentation, the Junior Business Architect  will also contribute to the Charter BA Practice development and Charter’s work with clients that is aimed to bridge the gap between technology and business at a foundational level.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct customer and industry research and ensure information remains accurate and relevant
  • Develop key business architecture artifacts such as stakeholder maps, personas, journey maps, and process models
  • Support and document stakeholder workshops and interviews
  • Present clear, concise recommendations and solutions focused on key messages
  • Coordinate customer engagements with project teams, Account Managers, and other practices
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, customer data, and the BA repository
  • Contribute to business development, sales insights, and overall practice growth
  • Build and enhance business capability models aligned with maturity frameworks and long‑term roadmaps
  • Create thought leadership content including case studies, blogs, and whitepapers while managing priorities effectively
  • Collaborate with delivery teams and architects, support capability development discussions, and participate in training and practice initiatives


Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • 1-3 years of proven experience in business architecture roles or previous experience in consulting, business analysis, process improvement, or IT-related roles
  • Previous exposure to corporate or public environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience mapping, analyzing, and documenting business processes using frameworks like BPM
  • TOGAF Architecture Certified or available to undertake a certification path to achieve in 6 - 9 months
  • Design Thinking Certificate is an asset
  • Other complementary professional certifications are considered an asset.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong situational analysis and critical thinking skills
  • Experience supporting client interviews and engagement sessions, translating insights into actionable outcomes
  • Ability to actively listen, ask clarifying questions, and distill complex information
  • Experience assisting with workshop facilitation, including preparation and documentation of outcomes
  • Effective collaborator across all levels of an organization
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills tailored to different audiences
