Remote Embedded Machine Learning information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Embedded Machine Learning Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Embedded Machine Learning Engineer, you need a solid background in embedded systems, machine learning algorithms, and programming languages like C/C++ and Python, often supported by a degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields. Familiarity with microcontrollers, edge AI frameworks (such as TensorFlow Lite or Edge Impulse), and version control systems is typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and self-motivation are essential soft skills for collaborating remotely and troubleshooting complex issues. These skills ensure successful deployment of intelligent solutions on resource-constrained devices and effective teamwork in distributed environments.

What is a Remote Embedded Machine Learning Engineer?

A Remote Embedded Machine Learning Engineer is a professional who develops and deploys machine learning models on embedded systems like microcontrollers, IoT devices, and edge hardware, all while working remotely. Their work involves optimizing algorithms to run efficiently on devices with limited computing power, memory, and battery life. These engineers typically use frameworks such as TensorFlow Lite or TinyML to design intelligent features that operate directly on hardware, enabling real-time decision-making without relying heavily on cloud connectivity. They collaborate with cross-functional teams and often troubleshoot both software and hardware issues from a remote location.

What is the difference between Remote Embedded Machine Learning vs Remote Data Scientist?

AspectRemote Embedded Machine LearningRemote Data Scientist
Required CredentialsBachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields; experience with embedded systems and ML frameworksBachelor's or Master's in Data Science, Statistics, or related fields; proficiency in data analysis and ML algorithms
Work EnvironmentEmbedded hardware devices, IoT systems, real-time processing environmentsCloud platforms, data analysis labs, remote offices
Employer & Industry UsageTech companies, IoT device manufacturers, automotive, roboticsFinance, healthcare, marketing, tech firms

Remote Embedded Machine Learning specialists focus on integrating ML models into embedded hardware for real-time applications, often working with IoT and robotics. In contrast, Remote Data Scientists analyze large datasets to extract insights, primarily working in cloud or office environments. Both roles require strong analytical skills but differ in technical focus and work settings.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote Embedded Machine Learning Engineers, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Embedded Machine Learning Engineers often encounter challenges related to hardware access, debugging embedded devices remotely, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across time zones. To address these, it's important to set up robust remote development environments, use simulation tools when physical hardware isn't available, and establish clear communication channels for effective teamwork. Regular virtual meetings and detailed documentation also help ensure alignment and smooth progress, despite the remote nature of the work.

Job description

Senior Enterprise Architect โ€“ Shape the Future of Technology

Location: Atlanta, GA* (Hybrid Remote) | Position Type: Full-Time

Are you ready to take on a career-defining opportunity as the first Senior Enterprise Architect in our organization? This is a rare and exciting "first-to-the-team" role where you will not only lead an architecture team (Data Architecture, System Architecture, Application Architecture) but also build the Enterprise Architecture function from the ground up. As a key strategic leader, youโ€™ll design and implement our technology vision, aligning it with business goals to drive innovation, scalability, and efficiency across the enterprise.

This is your chance to make a lasting impact by creating a world-class architecture function that supports a rapidly growing organization. If youโ€™re a trailblazer who thrives in greenfield opportunities, this is the role for you!

What Youโ€™ll Do

Establish and Lead the Enterprise Architecture Function

  • Develop the organizationโ€™s first-ever Enterprise Architecture framework, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Implement and chair the Architecture Review Board (ARB) to ensure alignment across business and technology.
  • Define and communicate the technology vision and lead strategic discussions with senior executives, portfolio managers, and stakeholders.
  • Build and manage a high-performing architecture team, including System Architects and Data Architects.

Design Scalable, Future-Ready Solutions

  • Lead the creation of a robust architectural runway to support Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and Solution Trains.
  • Partner with Agile Teams, Product Managers, and Solution Architects to define and implement innovative, scalable solutions.
  • Streamline the technology portfolio by identifying opportunities to reduce complexity, redundancy, and total cost of ownership.

Drive Innovation Across the Enterprise

  • Champion emerging technologies, including Cloud, Big Data, AI, and Machine Learning, to future-proof the organization.
  • Establish and promote enterprise-wide architectural standards to ensure consistency, quality, and best practices.
  • Mentor and inspire Agile Teams to adopt Continuous Delivery Pipeline (CDP) and DevOps capabilities.

Lead Enabler Epics and Architecture Initiatives

  • Guide Enabler Epics through the Portfolio Kanban to ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to decompose epics into actionable features and capabilities.
  • Play a key role in SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) events such as PI Planning, System Demos, and design reviews.

Be a Visionary Leader

  • Act as a thought leader and advocate for Lean-Agile practices across the organization.
  • Build and foster a collaborative, innovative culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Lead a Community of Practice for architecture and mentor the next generation of technical leaders.

What Youโ€™ll Bring

  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Masterโ€™s degree or certifications like TOGAF, SAFe are a plus).
  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years in enterprise architecture or technology leadership roles, with proven success in creating large-scale architectures.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of Cloud, Big Data, AI, Machine Learning, system integration, IT governance, and application design. Familiarity with platforms like Salesforce, Appian, and Enterprise systems.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
  • Framework Knowledge: Experience with SAFe principles and Agile practices.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Visionary Mindset: Ability to think strategically, align technology with business goals, and implement solutions that deliver maximum value.

Why This Role?

This is more than a job; itโ€™s an opportunity to build a legacy. As the first Senior Enterprise Architect in our organization, you will have unparalleled autonomy to shape the future of technology and make a measurable impact. Youโ€™ll work alongside forward-thinking leaders in a collaborative, fast-paced environment that values innovation, leadership, and excellence.

If youโ€™re ready to lead, build, and innovate, weโ€™d love to hear from you. Apply now to take the next step in your career as a technology trailblazer!
