Our Manager of Quality Engineering is responsible for advancing the maturity, scalability, and effectiveness of the enterprise Quality Engineering (QE) function across cloud and on-prem platforms. This Manager is responsible for QE governance, test automation, performance engineering, and test data management. They are accountable for defining and executing a product-centric, outcome-driven quality strategy and establishing best-in-class QE standards, tools, and practices, while executing enterprise-wide strategies for automation, performance, and data quality. This Manager of Quality Engineering is accountable for implementing transparent metrics, fostering accountability, and enabling faster delivery with reduced risk across multiple product teams.
Salary Range
$130,000 ~ $160,000

The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may fall outside of this range.
Work LocationOur first consideration will be to have this employee live in the state of Wisconsin to take advantage of Hybrid work and collaboration. Employees within 45 miles of WPS Headquarters (1717 W. Minimum Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Administration, Software Engineering or related field OR equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 7 or more years of progressive experience in Quality Engineering / Software Development lifecycles.
  • 3 or more years in a Managerial or Senior Level role*.
  • Deep understanding of quality engineering disciplines, governance, and modern software development practices with the ability to integrate automated testing and quality controls into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies, backlog management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps), and iterative delivery practices including sprint cycles and PI Planning.
  • Expertise in agile product management, scaled agile frameworks, or hybrid delivery models.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence and drive change across diverse teams and complex organizations.
  • Ability to design and evolve scalable automation frameworks, establish quality standards, and drive shift-left testing strategies within agile product teams.
  • Ability to ensure QE processes align with regulatory, audit and security requirements.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AI and it's implementation into QE programs and solutions.
  • Experience with a variety of Software Engineering and Software Solutions development in a variety of languages and technologies.
  • *As a Senior Level Engineer, extensive hands-on quality engineering experience as a thought leader possessing the ability to seamlessly step-up into management and people leadership role.
