• Conduct thorough initial assessments and interviews with clients to document their mental health status from first contact through the course of treatment.
• Evaluate and interpret clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health by employing evidence-based techniques and tools.
• Create and implement tailored treatment and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions and lead group therapy meetings, ensuring an engaging and supportive environment.
• Continuously monitor and document client progress throughout treatment, adjusting intervention plans as necessary.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, on complex cases to ensure comprehensive care.
• Provide follow-up communications with medical professionals regarding clients who require hospitalization or specialized treatment.
• Proactively identify and intervene in behaviors that may hinder recovery and provide support to family members and primary caregivers.

Our clients range across various demographics, each presenting unique challenges related to mental health. As a counselor, you will work with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction disorders, and other mental health issues. Understanding the cultural and socioeconomic factors affecting our clients in Lancaster and surrounding areas will be crucial to delivering effective interventions.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in Pennsylvania.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with an emphasis on empathy and interpersonal skills.

• Previous work experience as a mental health counselor, specifically within community health settings.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, is highly desirable.
• A solid understanding of addiction disorders and the impact of physical health on mental well-being.
• Knowledge of the best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
