Job description

The Lead Industrial Electrician will undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure. This job involves installing electrical wiring in buildings and poles, troubleshooting malfunctions and blackouts, and repairing appliances.
This position is based out of Lakeland, FL area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Follow all safe workplace practices, comply with all applicable safety and health rules, and actively participate in safety programs.
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings and documentation and initiate revisions when applicable.
  • Estimate materials and time needed to complete activities to ensure completion of tasks.
  • Install, maintain, and repair secondary electrical systems, including but not limited to general wiring, lighting, and communication systems.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot power distribution equipment systems, rotating equipment, motor drives, associated control systems, stand-by power systems and associated equipment.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance as established by maintenance program.
  • Maintain documentation to record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, and tests.
  • Train and provide subject matter expertise to Electricians.
  • Uphold the principles of the company's food safety certification program.
  • Immediately report any food safety, food quality, or plant security issues to management for appropriate action.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• 4+ years of relevant electrical experience.
• Experience in industrial and commercial electrical systems.
• Knowledge of the use of electrical and hand tools; e.g., wire strippers, voltmeters, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to understand electrical drawings and blueprints.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of basic instrumentation and calibration.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
• Associate's degree (two-year college or technical school) in Industrial Electrical Technology or similar field OR completion of recognized apprenticeship as an electrician OR equivalent work experience or vocational training.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must have the ability to frequently move materials/machinery up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that involve being low to the ground, reaching high and low, and moving around a construction area.and perform tasks that involve searching for items and remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time.
• Must be able to use small, hard-to-grip tools and manipulate hard-to-reach wires and other materials.
• Stress of traveling.
• Ability to ascend/descend ladders.
• Ability to understand work instructions.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
• Must be able to distinguish different wires based on their colors.
• Able to perceive depth well and can identify and distinguish electrical materials at varying distances.
• Must be able to get into awkward positions and work in cramped spaces, such as crawl spaces under floors.
