Objective: Senior Engineer looking to grow into a Director role in a small to mid size firm
Position Overview
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading and overseeing the electrical engineering department, ensuring the development and implementation of innovative engineering solutions for heavy industrial projects. This role focuses on managing teams, driving project success, and maintaining high safety and quality standards across the organization, particularly in oil and gas, refineries, pulp and paper, and manufacturing sectors.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the electrical engineering team to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for heavy industrial projects.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other departments to align engineering objectives with project goals.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and documentation before implementation.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers to foster professional growth and technical expertise.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license 
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering within heavy industrial sectors working for small to mid size firms on mid size projects.
  • Proven experience in oil and gas, refineries, pulp and paper, and manufacturing industries.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and arc flash engineering tools.
