Job description

Trueline is seeking a (hybrid role 3/2 split) Senior Electrical Engineer with PE licensure to join their team in any of these locations Charleston, SC; Atlanta, GA; Jacksonville, FL; or Raleigh-Durham, NC. This is a senior-level opportunity to lead electrical design on complex building projects, influence technical standards, and mentor rising engineers while playing a visible role in project delivery and client relationships.
Travel is project-based and may include site visits for field coordination and troubleshooting. This is a day shift, full-time role offering the opportunity to shape high-impact building projects throughout the region.
What You'll Do as the Senior Electrical Engineer:
Lead electrical system design for medium to large-scale building projects
Oversee calculations, load studies, short circuit and coordination analyses
Review submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation for accuracy and code compliance
Respond to RFIs and support construction administration efforts
Prepare and review specifications, reports, and design narratives
Develop discipline workplans aligned with project schedules and budgets
Participate in coordination meetings as the senior electrical subject matter expert
Conduct targeted site visits to address field conditions and resolve technical challenges
Delegate tasks to junior engineers and provide technical guidance and mentorship
Contribute to proposals, client presentations, and technical discussions
Senior Electrical Engineer Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license/EIT considered if actively pursuing
7+ years of electrical engineering experience within the AEC industry
Deep knowledge of building systems design and the National Electrical Code
Experience leading discipline efforts on multidisciplinary project teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills in client-facing settings
Proficiency with electrical design software; working knowledge of Revit
Nice-to-Haves as the Senior Electrical Engineer:
Healthcare project experience
Experience serving as Project Manager on select engagements
Familiarity with QA/QC program development or internal technical standards
Prior involvement in business development or proposal support
