Position: Electrical Engineer
Location: Royal Oak, Michigan

Position Overview

We are seeking a Licensed Electrical Engineer (PE required) to lead electrical design efforts across healthcare, institutional, and commercial projects. This role involves producing stamped construction documents, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting full project lifecycle design from concept through construction administration.
The ideal candidate will serve as the internal electrical engineering resource and collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, architects, and external consultants.
Key Responsibilities

  • ย Design and stamp electrical construction documents (power, lighting, grounding, emergency systems)ย 
  • ย Perform load calculations and size electrical distribution systemsย 
  • ย Design lighting systems and ensure energy code complianceย 
  • ย Design emergency and standby power systems (generators, ATS, etc.)ย 
  • ย Coordinate fire alarm and low-voltage systems with contractors and AHJsย 
  • ย Support AV, telecom, security, and access control systemsย 
  • ย Work in Revit and AutoCAD for BIM coordinationย 
  • ย Collaborate with mechanical and architectural teamsย 
  • ย Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittalsย 
  • ย Conduct site visits and support construction administrationย 
  • ย Support proposals and business development when neededย 
Requirements

  • ย Bachelorโ€™s in Electrical Engineering (Masterโ€™s preferred)ย 
  • ย Active PE license (Electrical PE required)ย 
  • ย 7+ years of electrical design experience in AEC environmentย 
  • ย Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70, NFPA 110, NFPA 99ย 
  • ย Experience with Revit and AutoCADย 
  • ย Strong communication and coordination skillsย 
Preferred

  • ย Healthcare or institutional project experienceย 
  • ย Experience with low-voltage systems (fire alarm, telecom, security)ย 
  • ย BIM coordination experience in multidisciplinary teamsย
