Remote Ediscovery information

What is a remote ediscovery professional?

A Remote Ediscovery professional is someone who manages the identification, collection, processing, and analysis of electronic data for legal cases, all while working from a remote location. These professionals support law firms, corporations, or government agencies in handling electronically stored information (ESI) relevant to litigation, investigations, or regulatory matters. Their work often involves using specialized software to organize, review, and produce digital evidence, ensuring compliance with legal standards and data privacy laws.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote ediscovery specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Ediscovery Specialist, you need a solid understanding of electronic discovery processes, legal procedures, and data management, usually supported by a degree in law, information technology, or a related field. Familiarity with eDiscovery platforms (such as Relativity or Logikcull), document review software, and certifications like CEDS (Certified E-Discovery Specialist) are often required. Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and clear communication skills are vital for success in a remote environment. These competencies ensure accurate, efficient handling of sensitive legal data, compliance with regulations, and effective collaboration with legal teams.

What is the difference between Remote Ediscovery vs Remote Litigation Support Specialist?

AspectRemote EdiscoveryRemote Litigation Support Specialist
CredentialsLegal or IT certifications, e.g., Certified Ediscovery Specialist (CEDS)Legal or IT certifications, e.g., Certified Litigation Support Professional (CLSP)
Work EnvironmentLegal firms, e-discovery vendors, corporate legal departmentsLaw firms, courts, legal departments, e-discovery vendors
Industry UsagePrimarily in legal and e-discovery sectorsLegal industry, litigation support services

Remote Ediscovery focuses on managing electronic data for legal cases, including data collection, review, and production. Remote Litigation Support Specialists assist with case preparation, document management, and trial support. While both roles involve legal data, Ediscovery is more specialized in electronic data processing, whereas Litigation Support covers broader case support tasks.

What are the typical collaboration challenges faced by remote ediscovery professionals, and how can they be addressed?

Remote eDiscovery professionals often collaborate with legal teams, IT staff, and external vendors across different locations and time zones. Common challenges include coordinating workflows, maintaining secure and efficient communication, and ensuring the integrity of sensitive data. These can be addressed by using secure project management platforms, establishing clear protocols for information sharing, and scheduling regular virtual check-ins to keep all stakeholders aligned. Adapting to these practices helps foster teamwork and ensures a smooth eDiscovery process even in a fully remote setting.

What are the qualifications to get a remote ediscovery job?

Required qualifications depend in part on the particular eDiscovery position. Those working as discovery analysts need at least a bachelor’s degree, but a graduate degree is beneficial. Necessary skills include strong logic, analytical, and communication skills. eDiscovery project managers need a bachelor’s degree and prior experience in the legal field, especially as related to eDiscovery. An associate consultant may need advanced legal or technical certifications or education. Employers prefer applicants with prior experience, familiarity with various email archive platforms, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Senior Integration Architect

Management Controls Inc

Job description

Description

Management Controls is seeking a high-impact, technically hands-on Senior Integration Architect to own and grow our integrations capabilities, API ecosystem, and platform architecture across customer ecosystems and strategic partners. This is a player-coach leadership role requiring a strong engineering and architecture foundation, direct experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams, and the ability to bridge business needs with hands-on execution - especially across APIs, data flows, ERP connectivity (with a strong preference for SAP), cloud-native platforms, and modern integration tooling.

The ideal candidate will define the integrations roadmap, translate complex integration needs into actionable requirements, and partner closely with architecture, QA, support, professional services, and customers to deliver secure, reliable, scalable integrations that customers trust - while staying hands-on with architecture, CI/CD, and production reliability.

Management Controls Inc. is headquartered in Houston, Texas. Local candidates are preferred; remote candidates in the continental United States will also be considered on a case-by-case basis. This position is not eligible for sponsorship or relocation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Integration Strategy and Roadmap

  • Define and own the integrations product vision and roadmap aligned with company and customer goals
  • Identify and prioritize new integration opportunities based on customer needs, partner strategy, and business impact
  • Evaluate third-party platforms, APIs, and technologies to expand ecosystem capabilities

Technical Discovery & Solution Design

  • Lead technical discovery and solution design sessions with developers, architects, and QA to ensure feasibility, scalability, security, and performance.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand end-to-end integration requirements (source/target systems, data mapping, error handling, monitoring, authentication, and operational support model), and own architectural decisions for the platform, including cloud-native design, containerization, and API standards.

Leadership

  • Contribute to and enable a high-performing engineering team supporting frequent, reliable production deployments
  • Drive modernization of platform delivery through CI/CD automation (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools)
  • Establish observability and monitoring practices (e.g., Dynatrace or similar) to drive high uptime across mission-critical integrations
  • Introduce and champion engineering best practices, including test-driven development, domain-driven design, and cloud-native/containerized architectures

Requirements & Delivery

  • Translate integration concepts into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Own the integrations backlog and prioritize work based on value, complexity, and dependencies
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, and release activities

Cross-Functional & Partner Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, QA, support, professional services, sales, and customer success teams
  • Serve as the primary product contact for integration partners and technical stakeholders
  • Support pre-sales and implementation efforts by providing integration guidance and product expertise

Quality, Reliability & Lifecycle Management

  • Define and drive integration quality standards: reliability, performance, security, compatibility, and versioning.
  • Manage the full integration lifecycle, including enhancements, deprecations, and documentation
  • Partner with engineering to ensure integrations are observable (logging/metrics), supportable (clear runbooks), and resilient (retries, idempotency, failure modes).

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform architecture, or technical product leadership, including experience building and leading engineering teams
  • Strong ERP integration experience; SAP integration experience is highly preferred
  • Experience with modern integration platforms / iPaaS solutions (e.g., Boomi or similar tools)
  • Demonstrated experience owning API-driven ecosystems, SaaS partnerships, or platform integrations at scale
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, web services, data flows, cloud-native architecture (Azure preferred), and integration patterns
  • Familiarity with authentication methods (OAuth, API keys, SSO, etc.)
  • Experience working with external partners or ISVs
  • Background in implementation, professional services, or solution architecture
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling and practices (e.g., GitHub Actions, ADO Pipelines) and observability platforms (e.g., Dynatrace)
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
