This position offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing the counselor to engage with clients from the comfort of their own home while utilizing our secure telehealth technology. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of clients' mental health status through virtual appointments, employing active listening and empathetic communication.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that address each client's unique needs, considering their background, experiences, and therapeutic goals.
  • Provide ongoing therapy sessions, offering support and evidence-based strategies to help clients manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, substance use, eating disorders, and other mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care, including making appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Regularly document client progress in electronic health record (EHR) systems, adhering to confidentiality and ethical guidelines.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions to foster community and peer support among clients.
  • Remain available for crisis intervention and develop safety plans when clients are in acute distress.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through training and supervision opportunities provided by Wiser Minds.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at Wiser Minds, you will work with a diverse client base, including individuals facing challenges related to anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance abuse issues, and eating disorders. You will apply culturally responsive and inclusive approaches to therapy, ensuring alignment with each individualโ€™s unique context and needs to promote effective healing and recovery.

Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Colorado.
  • A minimum of four years of related clinical experience, demonstrating a solid foundation in various therapeutic methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment practices, accompanied by crisis intervention skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and other digital tools to manage client information effectively.
  • A commitment to ethical practices, confidentiality, and maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a culture of shared knowledge and continuous improvement.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions, particularly through telehealth platforms.
  • Familiarity with a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Motivational Interviewing.
  • Demonstrated ability to support clients of varying age groups and backgrounds, incorporating culturally relevant practices in treatment.
Compensation and Benefits
