• Lead and facilitate consumer support groups, promoting a sense of community and shared experiences among clients.
• Cultivate meaningful relationships by conducting individual therapy sessions with clients, families, and other stakeholders, ensuring their needs are addressed holistically.
• Coordinate with the clinical team to assist clients with their social service needs, acting as a liaison with local agencies and civic organizations to enhance client advocacy.
• Plan and execute outreach activities with volunteers, interns, and other staff to create a welcoming environment and promote client engagement.
• Develop relationships with potential referral sources within the community, including mental health facilities and outpatient programs, to facilitate timely intake referrals.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines at all times, following the standards set by the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association.
• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and draft individualized treatment plans under the guidance of clinical supervision, ensuring accurate tracking of client progress.
• Keep meticulous records of client interactions, including progress notes, incident reports, and treatment documentation, to comply with JCAHO, Medicaid, and DBH standards of practice.
• Participate actively in staff meetings, case conferences, and ongoing training sessions to continue your professional development and enhance team dynamics.
• Perform additional tasks as required within the scope of your role to meet organizational goals.

This role primarily focuses on clients addressing perinatal mental health issues, requiring a nuanced understanding of the unique challenges and stressors faced during pregnancy and postpartum. As a counselor, your interventions will directly impact client outcomes by offering supportive therapies, psychoeducation, and community resource referrals, fostering improved mental health and overall well-being among this vulnerable population.

• A Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.
• A valid Social Work License in accordance with state regulations (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW).
• Proven ability to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team within an outpatient mental health agency.
• Strong communication skills—an aptitude for listening, advising, and sharing information concisely with clients and colleagues.
• Clean history regarding Medical Malpractice Claims, verified through third-party sources.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

• Experience in facilitating group therapy sessions focused on mental health topics, particularly related to perinatal issues.
• Previous work in an outpatient mental health setting, with knowledge of relevant treatment modalities and approaches.
• Familiarity with JCAHO accreditation processes and mental health reporting standards.
