Our team supports projects across the full lifecycle-from conceptual design through commissioning and startup-serving utilities, industrial clients, and municipalities.ย 

Position Overviewย 
We areย seekingย a highly motivated Distribution Engineer to join our engineering team on a full-time basis. This role can be based in Texas.ย You'llย work alongside an experienced technical team in a fast-paced environment, contributing to a wide range of projects and gaining exposure to all aspects of the engineering and design process.ย

Key Responsibilitiesย 

  • Support the design of overhead and underground electric distribution systems ranging from 4kV to 69kV.ย ย 
  • Prepare detailed scopes of work, cost estimates, engineering calculations, and design drawingsย in accordance withย applicable utility standards,ย U.S. national codes, and industry best practices (e.g., NESC, IEEE).ย ย 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders (utilities, municipalities, contractors) to gather design requirements and ensure project alignment.ย ย 
  • Utilize industry-standard software such asย QuickPole,ย SpidaCalc, and/or PLS-CADD for line design and analysis.ย ย 
  • Perform or support aerial line inspections and assessments for distribution and joint-use (communications) infrastructure.ย ย 
  • Apply relevant U.S. standards including theย National Electrical Safety Code (NESC)ย and applicable state/local regulations.ย ย 
  • Assistย with permitting processes, including coordination with DOTs, railroads, cities, and counties across Texas.ย ย 
  • Collect, interpret, and organize engineering,ย survey, and vendor data.ย ย 
  • Identify and help resolve technical and project-related challenges in collaboration with senior engineers.ย ย 
  • Support the development and maintenance of internal engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.ย ย 
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project schedules and deliverables are met.ย ย 

Requirements

Qualificationsย 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineeringย from an accredited institution.ย ย 
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in electric utility distribution design.ย ย 
  • Strong understanding of overhead and underground distribution systems.ย ย 
  • Proficiencyย with design tools such asย QuickPole,ย SpidaCalc, and/or PLS-CADD.ย ย 
  • Familiarity withย NESC, IEEE standards, and utility design practices in the U.S.ย ย 
  • Knowledge of permitting requirements across Texas (TxDOT, municipalities, rail crossings, etc.) is an asset.ย ย 
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain) is preferred.ย ย 
  • Proficiencyย with Microsoft Office Suite.ย ย 
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.ย ย 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.ย ย
