The Healthcare, Lab & Pharma Solution Manager is responsible for shaping the strategy, roadmap, and deployment of HVAC, Building Automation, and Critical Environment Control solutions for healthcare, laboratory, and pharmaceutical facilities.
As the company's subject matter expert, you will combine deep knowledge of mechanical systems, airflow management, room pressurization, environmental control, and critical environments with strong business acumen to develop innovative, differentiated solutions that improve patient safety, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, sustainability, and customer outcomes.
You will work at the intersection of customer needs, market trends, product innovation, and commercial strategy to drive growth in some of the world's most demanding and highly regulated environments.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Define Market & Solution Strategy
• Develop and execute the Healthcare, Lab & Pharma solution strategy and roadmap.
• Identify market trends, customer needs, competitive gaps, and growth opportunities.
• Establish reference architectures and solution frameworks that differentiate Distech Controls in targeted verticals.
• Partner with Product Management and R&D to define future product and solution requirements.
Lead Solution Development
Develop complete HVAC, room control, and environmental control solutions for:
• Healthcare Facilities:
o Patient rooms, Intensive Care Units (ICU/NICU), Operating Rooms (OR), Airborne Infection Isolation Rooms (AIIR), Protective Environment Rooms (PE), Sterile Processing Departments (SPD/CSSD), Imaging suites, Pharmacies, Central Utility Plants (CUP)...
• Laboratory Facilities
o Research laboratories, Wet and dry labs, BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories, Vivariums, Fume hood applications,
• Pharmaceutical Facilities
o GMP manufacturing areas, Compounding pharmacies, Clean rooms, Controlled-temperature environments, Cold rooms and freezer facilities
Develop expertise and solutions in:
• HVAC mechanical systems, Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS), Airflow tracking systems, Differential pressure control, Laboratory ventilation, Critical room controls, Environmental monitoring, Cleanroom and fume hood applications
Drive Cross-Functional Execution
• Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Sales, Marketing, Solution Architects, and strategic partners.
• Translate customer and market requirements into actionable product and solution specifications.
• Support strategic projects, pilot deployments, and major customer opportunities.
• Provide technical leadership across the organization.
Champion Industry Leadership
• Ensure alignment with key industry standards and regulations, including ASHRAE, ASHE, ANSI, FGI, CDC, CSA, ISO 14644, and other applicable healthcare, laboratory, and pharmaceutical requirements.
• Monitor regulatory and technology trends and assess their impact on future solutions.
• Support product launches, industry events, customer engagements, and thought leadership initiatives.
Support Business Growth
• Contribute to solution deployment strategies and go-to-market plans.
• Partner with Sales and Marketing to strengthen market positioning and messaging.
• Support business planning, profitability objectives, and long-term growth strategies.
