Job description

Discord is where hundreds of millions of people come together around games, communities, and shared interests. Behind the scenes, our Stock Administration team makes sure every equity award - from a new hire's first grant to a multi-year vesting RSU release - is handled accurately, compliantly, and with care.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Stock Plan Administrator to join our team supporting the day-to-day administration of Discord's global equity programs, including equity grants, option exercises, RSU releases, and special projects. On any given day, you might be supporting the administration of equity grants, walking an employee through their vesting schedule, or partnering with our auditors to test a SOX control. You will partner with key stakeholders in our Finance, Payroll, Tax, Legal, and HR teams to answer employee inquiries, educate employees on equity programs, improve processes, implement controls, and provide reporting as needed. You will also work directly with external auditors and third-party vendors. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager, Stock Administration.

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage the daily administration of Discord's global equity plans - from participant eligibility and enrollment through award processing, exercises, settlements, tax withholding, mobility reporting, expirations, cancellations, repurchases, and terminations.
  • Process, validate, and reconcile equity transactions across equity administration platforms, payroll, and the general ledger, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Partner with Legal, HR, Payroll, Tax, and Finance to administer Discord's global equity programs and support ongoing processes that ensure accurate record-keeping, withholding, reporting, and reconciliation across all equity data.
  • Maintain complete and reliable participant mobility data by tracking work locations and mobility history, and reconciling records across payroll and HRIS systems.
  • Provide a high level of service to employees, management, and stakeholders on equity plan questions; design and deliver educational sessions and communications about Discord's equity programs.
  • Manage the quarterly calendar of stock administration activities and prepare year-end tax information for IRC 6039 reporting.
  • Ensure SOX compliance across all aspects of the equity plan - including documentation, testing, and audit support - and ensure all equity compensation is administered per plan terms and conditions.

What you should have:

  • 5+ years in stock plan administration, with experience at both a private and public company.
  • Experience with global equity plans and managing an equity administration system.
  • A passion for equity and helping employees understand their equity compensation.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.

Bonus points:

  • Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation.
  • Experience with Carta.

This position is US-based and can be remote but if you live in the Bay Area, you're welcome to work from our beautiful SF office.
