Direct Counsel is seeking a Projects & Energy Finance Of Counsel to join a prestigious Am Law 100 firm. This role will focus on energy transition financing matters and is available in multiple U.S. offices. The position provides the opportunity to work on internationally recognized projects, including cutting-edge financing deals in the energy transition sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Counsel clients on complex energy transition finance transactions, including financing and M&A of energy projects and companies.
  • Structure and negotiate tax equity financing and renewable energy tax credit monetization matters.
  • Collaborate with financial institutions, investors, and corporate clients to develop innovative financing solutions.
  • Provide regulatory guidance on structured finance in the energy sector.
  • Manage transaction lifecycles from due diligence to deal execution.
  • Work alongside multi-disciplinary teams to support energy and infrastructure clients.
Qualifications:
  • Education: JD from an accredited law school.
  • Bar Admission: Licensed to practice in the jurisdiction where you are applying.
  • Experience: Minimum 9 years of experience in energy transition finance matters.
  • Prior experience handling tax equity and renewable energy tax credit monetization is required.
  • Experience at an Am Law 100 firm preferred.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and business judgment skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
  • Hybrid: Regular in-office presence with flexibility for remote work.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Expected hiring range: $450,000 - $550,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance, and 401(k).
