Tooling Operations Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Tooling Operations Administrator is responsible for the administration, operational support, maintenance, and reliability of enterprise platforms supported by the Tooling Operations team. This role will support the broader tooling portfolio, with a strong focus on Redwood RunMyJobs (RMJ) and enterprise batch processing. The ideal candidate will have strong RunMyJobs and production support experience, along with the ability to learn, administer, and support additional enterprise platforms. This role partners with application, infrastructure, security, vendor, and business teams to maintain reliable and effective technology services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Analysis:

  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues across supported enterprise platforms, integrations, and dependencies.
  • Provide strong technical expertise in Redwood RunMyJobs (RMJ), including batch processing, scheduling, job chains, dependencies, monitoring, reporting, and failure recovery.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring platform and batch processing issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the design, configuration, testing, and implementation of platform enhancements and integrations.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve troubleshooting, reduce repetitive activities, and increase platform reliability.
  • Develop technical knowledge across the Tooling Operations portfolio to provide cross-platform support as needed.

Operational Support and Administration:

  • Provide day-to-day administration and operational support for enterprise platforms within the Tooling Operations portfolio.
  • Provide primary support for RMJ and enterprise batch processing, including monitoring critical workloads, troubleshooting failures, and coordinating recovery activities.
  • Administer platform configurations, access, permissions, service accounts, integrations, and other operational settings.
  • Monitor platform health and respond to incidents, alerts, service requests, and production issues.
  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
  • Utilize AI-assisted tools and automation where appropriate to improve incident analysis, operational support, and efficiency.
  • Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation, including after-hours, weekends, and holidays as required.

Platform Maintenance:

  • Support platform upgrades, patches, releases, configuration changes, and scheduled maintenance.
  • Perform platform health checks and proactively identify performance, stability, capacity, and security concerns.
  • Maintain platform integrations, connections, service accounts, certificates, and other technical dependencies.
  • Perform testing and validation following platform and infrastructure changes.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge articles.
  • Document platform configurations, integrations, batch schedules, dependencies, and support procedures.
  • Track and report incidents, batch failures, recurring issues, platform health, and operational trends.
  • Document root causes, corrective actions, and lessons learned from significant incidents.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Redwood RunMyJobs (RMJ) and enterprise batch processing.
  • Experience administering and supporting business-critical enterprise technology platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of batch scheduling, job chains, dependencies, monitoring, troubleshooting, and failure recovery.
  • Working knowledge of Windows/Linux, databases, APIs, file transfers, authentication, and enterprise integrations.
  • Experience with ITSM, monitoring/observability, developer tooling, automation, or similar enterprise platforms is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and support multiple enterprise platforms and identify opportunities to improve operations through AI and automation.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours production support when required.

The salary range for this opportunity is $50,000 - $70,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience, among other factors.
